I stopped at the Albertson's customer service desk on 5/23/2023 to drop off a Fed Ex package, as I had done so the day before with only a QR code on my phone. I advised Esperanza of my request and presented the Fed Ex QR code on my phone which read, "Take this QR code to FedEx and they will print your label for you." She flatly said, "We don't print labels here" but confirmed they were a Fed Ex drop off center. I advised her I had dropped off a Fed Ex package here yesterday with only a QR code on my phone. To which she replied, "That's impossible," implying with her tone that I was somehow lying. It was only after the employee who helped me yesterday confirmed my story, that I was believed. It's bad enough that Albertson's claims to be a Fed Ex drop off center, but does not possess the capability to print a Fed Ex label. It's far worse when a customer is essentially labeled as a liar by an Albertson's employee. I was outraged at the disrespectful, unprofessional, and derogatory manner in which I was treated by Esperanza, whose job it is to provide customer "service."
At this point, I asked to speak with the store manager. Throughout the interface I remained calm (but firm) and did not raise my voice during the entire encounter. Because of my internal upset, I was glaring at Esperanza when she went to page the store manager overhead. She asked me if I was okay, to which I responded, "I'm fine." She then said, "Because it looks like you're going to hurt me." Whaaaat? So now, not only has this particular employee implied that I'm a liar, but also somehow capable of violence?? I have been a nurse and a nurse practitioner for 18 years. I provide care and compassion for people in medical need, including end-of-life cancer patients. At this point, I turned away from the service desk and kept my distance while waiting for the store manager, who never showed up because he had left for the day (this was 4:00 p.m.). Esperanza then approached me and advised me of the same. When I asked for a corporate service excellence contact number, she handed me an Albertson's receipt, which had a phone number listed at the bottom.
I left the store, called the number and logged a case number with the representative. I have yet to be contacted by an Albertson's district manager.
So, if you want a customer "service" desk, where no service is provided, and where employees characterize you as a liar, who's capable of violence, this is definitely the store you want to go to. If not, I recommend shopping at Smith's or another grocery chain in the area.
UPDATE 4/17/2024: I contacted Albertson's corporate customer service on 5/23/2023 and left a vmx message requesting a call back. To date I have never received a call back to address...
Read moreI don't regularly shop at Albertson's as I, in my opinion, feel their prices are a little on the high end. Although, I am sure to look at their weekly ad because they have awesome specials and I will go in for those specials. There are two employees that I would like to name out loud because I believe they should be acknowledged and told that they are awesome and possibly given a raise. I do not know their last names but I'm going to give it a shot anyway. I would like for corporate Albertsons to recognize Stephanie for her hard work, her upbeat and friendly attitude, her professionalism and her loyalty. Stephanie is and always has been a very good employee at Albertson's and every time I walk in there I'm happy to see her. Thank you Stephanie for all of your hard work loyalty and going the extra mile for your customers. The second employee I would like to ask corporate Albertsons to acknowledge is Teresa. This woman has helped me or has tried to anyway, to the best of her ability. She was hindered on doing so several times because of the Albertson's POS system. ( I have my own saying for thier POS system) LOL! Teresa is the only one at the Zafarano location that can cash checks. If Teresa is not there you are screwed. You will not cash your check. Now, CORPORATE ALBERTSONS!!!!!! I hope you're reading this, you need to update your systems and you need to better train your employees so they ALL can help customers that need this type of service. I do not believe Theresa or Stephanie get paid enough money for the job they do and the stuff they need to put up with on a daily basis. As I stood in line watching all the customers get angry at Theresa because the POS system would not work with her. Even though there were people saying awful things under their breath making noises rolling their eyes she kept her composure her professionalism and apologized for the wait. I cannot give enough kudos to Teresa for that one experience I saw and heard. I can't say I would have been the same if I was in her shoes. Thank you Teresa for being patient professional and going the extra mile to make your customers happy. I also am very pleased when I walk in to Albertsons at Zafarano and see Theresa as I know if I have an issue it will be taken care of or addressed in a timely and professional manner. Again, thank you Stephanie and Theresa for...
Read moreWent to grab a few things which turned into maybe about 30 items. Not a lot of people were in the store at the time. I decided to ask the lady in self checkout if I could use the self check out, mind you there are 6 self checkout registers and no one was in any of them and there was a sign for 15 items or less. I prefer to scan and bag my own items because I’ve had bad experience with my stuff in the past and it just a lot easier for me to do it that way. The lady told me no because it was 15 items or less because people steal with more items in their cart. I then told her I am not here to steal I just want to checkout my own items and place them in my bags myself. She then said I will let you this one time but I will not be around to help you(even though I was still the only one there) I started checking out and had maybe 5 items left and she walked up to me and said “I got in trouble for letting you checkout in the self checkout.” I then told her I would speak to her manager to explain myself so she wouldn’t get in trouble. The manager said I was not allowed to do this because I have too many items and they were getting complaints from people who only have a few items and have to wait for people who have more than a few items. I explained to her that I asked the employee more than once and she allowed it. I told the manager that a self checkout was to “self checkout” and she corrected me and said “No it’s for people who have a few items”. I then told her I would never shop there again because if I want to checkout myself I can’t do it if I have more than 15 items. I finished checking out and the machine froze on me twice because I was speaking to them and it kept asking if I needed more time or was finished checking out and the employee tried to tell me it was because I didn’t scan an item! The manager clicked a button on her computer and it went through. I could have finished checking out and not been in anyone’s way if this wouldn’t have happened because there was still no one else checking out in...
