Omg what a waste of 55 dollars for two
Arrived to a desolate empty restaurant. Christmas tree still up. Floors were filthy Went to use restroom and the soap dispenser was broken. There was a big sanitizer dispenser clearly labeled sanitizer. On the vanity. I thought, Oh well at least I can wash my hands with warm water. Dry them then sanitize. As I’m rubbing the sanitizer in it’s beginning to foam. OMG it was soap poured into a sanitizer bottle. Geez go buy a new soap dispenser. It gets worse. The server was young a not well trained. She kept calling my guest and I hun. I know she meant well but it’s not Rosies Diner. So the menu selection was typical ( as we go to double dragon in Rio ranch all the time.). The standard Chinese food pictures were on the menu along with a statement We can prepare any menu item in a health way. So I’m thinking oh that’s a good idea for those like my self that prefer stir fry vs deep fry. I pointed to a picture that look like meat and shrimp and asked specifically is anything on this menu item deep fried. The server clearly said NO. We also ordered a large wonton soup because we enjoy it family style. For some reason the server asked would you rather have to smalls ? WTH. Food arrives and low and behold my dragon and phoenix is a mound of deep fried chicken. Before she set the plate down I said I thought you said nothing is deep fried. She said oh it’s always like that. OMG. Walked away no sorry no can I get you something else. So I enjoyed my soup and pushed that plate aside because I didn’t want to eat deep fried food ( and a I asked before I ordered it ). Still no “ how’s everything taste ( standard restaurant 101. Well now my guest is no longer feeling comfortable with this experience and goes and ask the server to bring me something that’s not deep fried. She began a slight bicker with me. She had the cook scrape the deep fried portion off. Stir fried some chicken which was good but the careless kitchen crew let the untouched shrimp get ice cold. By this time I lost my appetite after hearing the staff gossip talking about the issue in an unprofessional manner. As I was carefully calculating a 15 % tip before tax. The server comes by and asks Did I forget to take my copy of credit card receipt. I handed it to her and felt like she snatched it out of my hand. Still no sorry no thank you. Upon leaving a very pleasant bearded kitchen work was having his meal break in the dining room and he said good night and thank you very professionally. I thanked him. One of the somewhat cashier supervisor persons that was part of the unprofessional chit chat said good night. I calmly said to her this was the worst restaurant experience I have had and she should read my review. She said she would tell the manager.
Here’s were it gets worse. My guest now feeling uncomfortable is holding the door open for me to exit. And the poor server was sitting on the curb waiting for a ride. I’m not sure if she heard me that was not my intention. I didn’t know she was sitting on the curb. Well the lady that was working the front called her back in. Who knows what she said
Manager / owner I feel bad that you allow this young server to represent your establishment with little to no training or supervision. She is probably a wonderful young person filling a hard to fill position. This is no excuse for you not training her properly or helping her become a great server. I would be very surprised if I saw a credit on my charge card for the amount of money I wasted today. There were only 2 tables I don’t think it would be hard to find my receipt. Shame on you.
I must say the service in Rio rancho is much better even though they give you a bag and you can use the dining room to sit in. That’s one way of solving being short in servers.
I would appreciate at least seeing a response...
Read moreI was brought to this restaurant by a business associate about a month ago. I don't really like writing bad reviews of restaurants but I feel it's necessary in this case.
We went there for lunch and I ordered one of the lunch special combo plates, pepper steak. I'm from back East and have a lot of experience with well run Chinese restaurants. What they brought out was absolutely disgusting. I'm very familiar with processed products and I recognized this stuff immediately. What I got for lunch was overheated processed "beef" that had been cooked so much it was in a gelatinous state. It was so inedible that as I was leaving the restaurant I thought to myself "I wouldn't feed this to my dog". I ate the phony egg roll and some of the vegetables and left the entire mess of fake meat for the garbage can. What a waste of energy and time for inedible processed junk.
I prepare my meals almost exclusively at home nowadays. I'm fully capable of purchasing good quality meat and making my own stir fry dishes. I don't need to eat terrible quality products and bite my tongue when I'm at a local business just to be nice. Restaurants here in Santa Fe need to stop using these crappy products and start using fresh, real meats and food products if they want to get my business back again. Till then, you're just another restaurant business that I won't patronize!
2 stars only because the staff were very nice. Would have been 1...
Read moreFirst bad experience at double dragon. I've visited here many times, in fact this place used to be one of my favorites! Until, today. We walked in and weren't greeted with a warm smile. We were greeted with a gloomy waitress and stared down by the cooks. We arrived an hr before closing. We were sat in the dining area which usually is low lit. This time it was bright and made me feel like I was walking into a doctor's office. Very unpleasant. The whole time our waitress was rude, abrupt, and lacked any facial expression. We ordered immediately. We got 2 orders of orange chicken, lo main, egg drop soup (my favorite dish here,) tea, water, and a diet coke. The food came out within 5 minutes! The orange chicken and lo main were great! Although, they forget my egg drop soup, which I asked for again. Our drinks came with no straws or ice. Now the time was 8:30pm, they close at 9. I had a hunch that they would microwave my egg drop soup. Soon, I heard the microwave beeper go off, shortly after, my egg drop soup arrived. Our waitress slammed it down on our table, hitting my hot tea causing it to splash over. The egg drop tasted like the bottom of a burnt pan or burnt nuts. They also forgot the croutons for the soup. I didn't bother asking for them. My husband and I rushed eating to get out of there because the whole environment...
