I bought online through Reverb and have something to say. Good communication from the owner and kind customer serviceš However, I'm still convinced the guitar I recieved was a floor model and not set-up properly before shipped (back off guitar was sticky, no stickers on guitar like a new PRS guitar has, some very light scratches on back from use), guitar was not polished or new looking really but I got the guitar on deep sale, around $200 off for Christmas/New Year sale. Shipping itself was lousy but I live all the way in Michigan so quite a ways to travel for delivery.. box came extremely damaged. Guitar itself undamaged by shipping. First fret was completely dead, so took the to my local shop (Firehouse Guitars) who did a complete setup, pickup installation and fret work. They said the guitar wasn't like that due to traveling or acclamation but a bad setup so someone is lying or techs from Candyman are just inexperienced? Who knows, I'm very off put by the situation, maybe it was a rushed job. Guitar is now set up to perfection and ultimately a great guitar. Will I shop again from this store?? More likely in person, but not online.
There was some underlying issues with being upfront, missing the brand new stickers on the guitar as well as the tags around that come around the headstock of any new PRS SE guitar is a giveaway that the staff wasn't being fully transparent. What happened?
None of this has deterred my overall enjoyment of the guitar, it plays and sounds like a dream now.
Other than this stuff, very happy!
I imagine, I'll get some snide response "It's not our fault, it's your fault or the brands fault" for giving a one star but hey, that's what the store is known for online. I'd say in person is probably a different experience. The company doesn't know how to take responsibility or just apologize for being dishonest. Like the other review where someone left their guitar to get worked on and they snapped the neck, their response to that review made me laugh š "Running a small business is tough, ya know?" And demanding statements like "So before you snap..." sound like a kid is responding to the reviews lol
I don't really care, I'm not angry, I'm enjoying the guitar but I should be able to leave an honest review without getting snide reply from dishonest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience inquiring about vocal lessons for my 7 year old son.
TL:DR Too young, false & misleading info on their website. Few vacancies. Staff that is not very sociable.
Do not recommend unless you want to be made to feel like an idiot for doing a bit of research beforehand and relying on the info presented on their website. I was recommended this place by another parent in my daughterās gym class. I checked the website; it had staff listed, which seemed promising. I showed my 7-year-old son (this will be important in a minute) the staff profiles and the videos accompanying each. We were both drawn to Joseph and his story more than the other teachers. His profile said he teaches all age levels and all vocal levels, from beginner to advanced.
I walked to the store with my kids, because Iām a single father with no car, thinking I had all my boxes checked. Should I have called first? Maybe. But Iām more of an in-person kind of guy; I thought I was well-equipped with the info from the website.
When we got there, I asked about vocal lessons. The staff member asked for my sonās age, and when I said he was 7, she gave me a look as if that was a problemāeven though their website and teachers(most of them) clearly states āall ages.ā She then said they only teach kids 8 and up. Clearly, hesitantly; she offered to inquire about asking some of the teachers there about teaching him at 7. I, for no reason apparently; mentioned my son was specifically drawn to Joseph because of his story; this information was immediately dismissed. She replied that Joseph doesnāt really teach younger kids; thatās Travisās role. Well, okay, Joseph; donāt list on your profile that you teach all ages and vocal levels. Thatās just false & misleading.
So, if you want to feel like an idiot for simply reading the information on their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreItās amazing how petty you are being and trying to make me out to be a āKarenā. First phone call was to inquire about your service of stringing my guitar. Who ever you are I was informed they cleaned the guitar etc. for the price mentioned of 25.00 I thought great (ofcourse price goes up for strings etc.) But to respond in a way is crazy. I came to this business to purchase my guitar at the age of 15. Iām 28 years old still have that guitar. This instrument is sentimental to me. When I am calling inquiring about services and misinformed is not my fault. As a business owner take accountability and acknowledge you guys made a mistake. (Everyone makes mistakes). I canāt believe I have to write this post out. You are not going to hear from me from the way youāre acting over a review! Remind you that There were water marks on the back of my guitar as if a wet rag was used. ( this is not how you clean items that are on the older sideā¦.) Entrusting in my property for it to be cleaned re strong etc. for it to be handled carelessly. Thank you for your time for hearing out a not returning customer. Hopefully youāll see this review as a wake up call. I too have learned my lesson to be more cautious of where to take my hard...
