I just finished my first semester as a returning student. I am very impressed with the improvements the college has implemented since I have been away. Each department has implemented strategies which will allow students to have more effective communication channels and will allow them to have a higher success rate. The student body Government is doing great and developing awesome new community leaders in the process. People here are super accepting of people's diverse backgrounds and this is a great place to go to learn about our culture in a safe environment for people from all walks of life.
I am super proud to be a student at Allan Hancock College and I am looking forward to the next semester. Hancock is now offering a program offered by them through Cal Poly San Luis Obispo called 2 + 2. This allows Hancock to offer students the ability to get a four yearw degree in Sociology and Business! I am a business major and I am way happy about this and will look forward to new four year degree offerings.
The Hancock bookstore is operated by Follett, who has a long and proud history providing text materials to education for years. They are a great resource and I am so happy to have such a prestigious institution helping us get the materials we need to be successful.
Thank you Allan Hancock College for providing such a safe and awesome educational experience for anyone who wishes to enrich their educational experience with a tradition of excellence in providing the best instructors and classes that are available for any person who wants to better themselves with...

Read moreA bit late for a review, but better late than never. Started here Fall 2016 as a non-traditional student. I transferred to Cal State Channel Islands Fall 2019. In the 2.5 years I was at AHC, I met some wonderful, amazing people. The school has a reputation for being the college version of a feeder school. In other words, students can start here and get into places like Cal Poly, or indeed any of the other Cal State or UC Schools if they work hard and play their cards right. That definitely isn't the case elsewhere. There's tons of scholarships and support programs available with a good chance of getting accepted as well. Like most things in college, you get out of it what you put into it. The only downside is it's a bit of a commuter school. When classes let out, the place turns into a ghost town because most of the students commute in and have part time jobs along with studying. That being said, the teachers and counselors really do care about the...
