The pho here tasted authentic but contained msg. I know because I get a certain headache when food has msg. Also, it was a pretty disappointing first visit. There were only 3 small tables, the manager was also trying to wait tables. Two other young women who seemed to be working there, took up one table restocking napkins and silverware. They were dressed very unkempt, hair and clothes. Spent time chatting instead of waiting on customers. My friend ordered a shrimp pho, and I ordered the rare steak pho. They served us two of the steak pho instead. We asked for water. No water came. About 10 minutes after finally getting the soup, after they served our appetizer without any silverware, we asked for some, and one of the girls brought us 2 forks rolled up in one napkin! The whole experience seemed to not be geared toward their customers but toward their own socializing. Very disorganized and uninterested. Will try the other vietnamese restaurant in town. Not worth the $25+ we spent here, to have such an...
Read moreJust walked in, followed the line that was winding left and next to the bar area, it was raining outside previously and I was holding my 1 year old daughter happy to be inside to keep her warm while we wait to order. As a veteran, I never asked once for a discount from this place even though they offer one as I really enjoyed their food and wanted to support them. Owner came out from the side kitchen area and screamed at my 1 year old daughter and I to move away from the table and that "they don't want you next to them when they are eating" as if I was disgusting. I can't put into words her expressions while telling me to move and not suggesting anywhere that was acceptable for me to stand. I was not even within arms reach of their table. I think this is my 2nd google review in over 15 years, this was the worst I have ever been treated at any establishment ever and to be holding my 1 year old while she does it was hard to stomach. Will not be returning and incredibly...
Read moreIt’s good pho if you’ve never had soup or Vietnamese food ever lol. Asian cuisine in the central coast is already scarce, let alone GOOD Asian cuisine. This pho tasted like the poor recreation of someone who had decent pho in the Bay Area or SoCal one time in their life. Sadly, it’s one of the two only Vietnamese restaurants within an hour of Santa Maria so I don’t blame the lack of comparison to actual good pho. The tripe, tendon, and meatball was undercooked and chewy. The pho did not come out steaming and the bowl was barely warm. You also pay for your food at the entrance first before you get it unlike most Vietnamese restaurants. The gen z workers had a bored attitude despite only servicing at the cashier and the one and only time they’ll come to your table which is to drop off the food. However, despite lacking everywhere else, the seating area and decor was very pleasant to look at. Overall, just get Thai...
