Felt very Dollar Tree with a sprinkle of Party City.
Room was made out of styrofoam and plywood. Which wouldn't be so bad, but you could see where they had drawn on the styrofoam and never erased it. Its the little finishing details like this that set other rooms apart.
GM/owner obsessively effusive, before and after the game, about another business that we neither asked about, or wanted to hear about. Time could've been better spent promoting his own brand, because we had not done all of his rooms. But it was the follow up phone call, STILL gushing over this other business, that felt weird and borderline creepy.
He called less than 24hrs before our scheduled time, to remind us of our 15min-before-game arrival time. Which was fine. Then less than 12 hrs. before our game, he called to tell us to come in 30min early. THEN it was yet ANOTHER phone call less than a few hours before our game where he decided he needed us to come 1 full hour before our game time. It was THE most schizophrenic experience Iv ever received from any business owner of any industry. (Mind you, we never suggested in any correspondence that we needed earlier times.)
Couldnât and wouldnât stop talking throughout the game. It wasnât occasionally, but incessantly, to the point of being aggressively intrusive and distracting. Considering there is a way in the room to help yourself to clues, it was unnecessary. If we needed additional help, we could ask. So the incessant intrusion took us out of the immersion. Other rooms we've done, where you can help yourself to clues, had little to no interaction from the game master unless you asked for it. Im not sure if he trusted his own in-room clue system, but he needs to give it a chance.
On a positive note, the entrance to the room is very creative. The lighting was good and appropriate for each room. At the end of the game the owner walked us through the room.
Its a shame this didnt work out for us, as we were looking forward to this room.

Read moreMy husband and I were visiting Sarasota last week, and as enthusiasts whoâve played 50+ rooms, we knew we had to do at least one escape room while there. All the reviews pointed to Lokeyâs as the place to go, and they were not wrong! We did Trouble in Tinseltown, their hardest room, and it ended up as one of our all-time favorites! My husband is an old movie buff, so the theme and decor alone were enough to impress him from the get-go, but even a non-movie fan would be impressed with the immersion factor. But my rating is based on the puzzles more than the âset,â and those, too, were top-notch. We loved the different kinds of puzzles/locks, the fact that it was not linear, and especially the fact that they are clear about items only being used once. While not the most tech heavy room weâve done, it flowed super well, and we got out with about 15 seconds to spare and only 2 small nudges - perfect to both feel accomplished and like we got our moneyâs worth. The owners (incl our game master) were so friendly and accommodating, even eagerly discussing the room with us at the end rather than rushing us out for the next group. It is evident Lokeyâs is a labor of love by fellow enthusiasts, yet an extremely professional and creative one, and Iâd highly recommend it to any other enthusiasts (or beginners!) out there. If we return to the area, this beach lover will gladly give up another hour of sand to play their other rooms, and thatâs the highest...
Read moreFun fun fun! Omg, it was thrilling from the very moment our host started revealing the story of an unsolved mystery taking place back in the 1943 and we could only imagine thatâs itâs gonna be real fun trying to solve the case playing couple of detectives but it definitely exceeded our expectations in every possible way! It was challenging in such an interesting and amazing way, made me and my husband work together thru every moment of the puzzle as we were trying to solve it and put all the pieces together! I adore challenging stuff that make my brain actually think and observe and put things together and I am so glad that this wasnât as easy cuz then it wouldnât be fun at all but we were still able to get help and hints when we needed it and felt stuck and it worked out perfectly for us cuz we actually did bring case to the end! Luckily we were allowed to stay in a couple of minutes longer than an hour and we were excited as three year olds when we saw we actually solved it! The atmosphere was so good all along together with the effects in the room, really puts your mindset towards feeling the story as it was super real, for an hour you almost forget that itâs just a game LOL! I loved how it was demanding yet perfectly doable, evolving as every next move brings you one step closer⌠If you are persistent and up to a good challenge thatâs gonna make your brain do some work out for an hour, then Lokeyâs Escape Rooms is your next...
