Target — Local services in Sarasota

Was in Target a couple days ago to do the gift card exchange. I was with my 1 year old baby and pregnant wife. We headed to the electronic section to do the exchange. The only person there was a man name Cid. He was extremely nice and very professional. He told me he didn't have access to that department though and will radio the person who does to come and assist me. I waited over 45 minutes standing there for this person as I tried to keep my baby from getting restless and crying. The electronic guy Cid kept radioing the other guy like 5 times and repeating that you have customers waiting on you as he was multitasking with like 5 other customers. The guy in the black shirt was literally in the bathroom the entire time!! "Guessing on his phone". After 45 minutes of waiting and a crying baby he finally comes out the bathroom and tells us they don't exchange for Amazon gift cards.. Reason I was exchanging the $100 Amazon card was to get diapers and formula for our baby instead of taking it from our rent money. So at the end of the day I had to stand there for 45 minutes with a crying baby and a pregnant wife just to walk out there empty handed with a horrible experience to add with it. We are not upset they couldn't exchange it but the fact we had to wait over 45 minutes to get this simple answer cause someone rather sit in the bathroom playing on their phone instead of doing their job as they have a pregnant woman standing and waiting for help for 45 minutes and their other employee doing all the work by himself. Only reason I'm leaving 2 stars instead of 1 is because Cid was very professional and apologetic for our experience...

I've always loved Target & many products they sell. This time I went in search of an upgraded model of my Samsung Galaxy. There was no employee in that department & I had to look for an employee to call someone to help me. That employee had to call the employee from that department. I got a knowledgeable young man who answered my questions, but also acted like I was wasting his time, which was unprofessional & annoying. When I asked, "Is there something else you'd rather be doing?" He said he needed to finish something. I later saw him chit-chatting with his co-workers & going through merchandise very casually. I was disappointed that while I was spending $100 for an upgraded smartphone, not all my questions were answered. It's almost like buying a newer model of your car & the salesman says he's too busy to answer questions, then walks away to sip on his coffee & joins a circle of salesmen avoiding potential buyers. Another disappointment was that there were no compatible phone cases & screen protectors/tempered glasses even though the phone model was being sold there. UPDATE 5/5/23: I had a better experience today. This time i was assisted in finding cargo pants I really liked. I was assisted elsewhere in the store in finding other items. The employees were much more helpful. But honestly, many items...

For $267.40 on 12/12/24 I purchased at Target what was sold as a set of gen 2 Apple anirpod pros and we could not figure out why they refused to pair with the phone. We called Apple but they could not help. We made an appointment and went to the Apple Store. After a while the guy realized the issue and was able to confirm it via the serial numbers. They sold me gen 1 pro AirPods in a gen 2 case at full gen 2 retail price. They will never work. He said they’ve heard of this happening when products are purchased at Target or Best Buy etc. They are trying to get rid of old stock. So they put the gen 1 in the gen 2 case and sell it for the gen 2 price…AND they will not work because even though they fit in the case they don’t pair. He printed out his notes for me to take along to Target. We purchased a new set from the Apple Store. Although the manager, Sergio, was friendly and knew this was what happened, he was not able to bypass the system to provide a refund due to the serial numbers not matching…which is precisely the cause of the issue! Target did not refund my $267.40. ...
