Extremely poor, along with poor customer service. Originally had an appointment for 11am on a Saturday. I was called the evening before and asked if I could reschedule for earlier that morning, at 830. I said thats fine, I had no problem. Well 830 rolls along, and no handyman. i finally got a call from the office, saying they "forget" to let the handyman know, and that he would then be there at the originally scheduled time at 11am. Well 11 rolls around, and no handyman, so then I get a phone call at 1130, saying he was now not going to be there until 2, not caring that I had wasted my whole morning waiting for this guy to show up. I said fine. So the guy finally shows up, says he is only going to do the estimate, and that he could "maybe" come by tomorrow (Sunday), that is, if he decides he does not want to fish. He states he will let me know. So fast forward to Sunday morning, 9am, no calls. So I start to plan my day, and low and behold, here is Ross, showing up unannounced at 10am. He just rolls in and gets to work, unconcerned with anything I may have been doing. So then he decides to leave to go get more materials, that he didn't have enough, although he knew exactly what he needed, because he stated so the day before. He is gone for an hour, and then comes back. After about 2 more hours of work, he says he is finished. He does not care to walk through the work he has completed, he just wants to be paid, asking specifically for cash or check, and acting very annoyed when I said i was paying with card. After he leaves, I find that Ross left my house a complete mess. he got drywall mud all over my house, and didnt bother to clean up at all. He also somehow got it all over my car. I found a drywall screw in my garbage disposal even. And to top it all off, he didnt even do a complete job. The work is probably 75% complete. And he would not give me a copy of the invoice, which is unheard of. So i try to contact the handyman office, and told I have to wait for them to get the invoice, and the manager, Hogan, seemed also unconcerned with the information, only wanting to send the same guy back out, because what i want to deal with is an inept guy trying to fix his own inept mistakes. No sir, I will pay for the substandard service, and spread the word. Do not use this company, and if you do, and they say they are going to send Ross, ask them for somebody else.
Update -
Changing to a 5 star after dealing with the regional manager Robert, based out of Tampa and the guy they sent to fix the first guy's job. The new guy, Dee, came out and went over every piece of the job with me. Fixed everything and made me feel extremely comfortable with the work he did. If you need a general contractor type guy, call the handyman company and ask for Dee. He is super good at what he does and...
Read moreMy kitchen faucet was working poorly so my wife purchased one online, similar in style to the old single handle one. After much procrastination and reluctance to attempt DIY, based on prior bad experiences with such repairs, I called around to check out prices for a professional to come do the job. The prices were about as astronomical as the amount you can spend on a new faucet these days. By chance I saw an Amazon local advertisement for the Handyman Company and called my local number. The customer service was very professional and friendly and I explained my repair needs, the lady even offered to send out a technician for a free estimate. I was so comfortable with the experience and so in need of fixing the problem, (my wife has been on me for months about it), that I said no, let's just schedule an appointment for the repair. So, the next morning at 9am prompt, Johnathan the technician showed up as scheduled. He was extremely nice and obviously knew exactly what he was doing. The repair was as I imagined not something a weekend repair warrior would want to attempt and there was definitely not easy by any stretch of the imagination. The old fixture had somehow been placed so tightly (unduly so) in the basin that it actually had to be sawed out, a piece of cake for Johnathan and wouldn't have been for me. Additionally, one of the shut off valves had frozen on the connection and instead of hacking it off and charging me for an additional repair or time associated with Johnathan carefully got it unstuck and repaired. I hadn't noticed that new water lines were not included with the faucet and I ran out and picked up a couple. As the job was near completion, Johnathan noticed a corroded slip-joint on the trap that was a likely source for a leak and although tightening it more might have temporarily remedied the problem, he recommended that we replace it. I ran out again and bought the inexpensive part. Well at the end of a quite difficult repair that lasted a lot longer to perform than anyone expected; Jonathan only asked for the prior agreed amount as he completed the paper work. There was no additional charge for the time I spent running out to the store to pick up the parts even though I thought that I already had everything necessary for the repair. I really admire this company and the entire experience. I will definitely be using them again! Also, Jonathan is a...
Read moreThese guys came to my house to "give me an Estimate" after driving from Orlando to meet them at the house to Sarasota 2.5 drive and a lost day. The handyman they sent saw the work that needed to be done,, which was to Complete an the inside trim on a double Front door, Some light Electrical work, (which was checking the outlets for proper connection, from which I called them first to ask if they do Light Electrical and they said yes) there was some baseboard caulking, painting, tv mount, replace some tile, etc. All jobs a Handyman can do (except for the electrical which I was prepared to have someone else take care of). They guy starts measuring the baseboard to give me an estimate, gets a calls most likely from his boss, comes back in the house and tells me that they are all booked up they will not have any time to the job, which is total BS because why would you send anyone to give an estimate if you are 100% booked forever. The guy refused to even give me an estimate because he did not want to do the work at all, if he did not want to do the electrical than fine I would have gotten another person to do, but no he flat out said we are passing on this job and left. I called the company back to complain and the call went to the person who told him not to do the job and he gave me some BS. They made me waste my time, drive 2.5 hours to come out for them to deny the job, all items that needed to be done are handyman type of work. so if you want to call these people make sure it is a simple job because if it is too much work they will pass. This is the problem today no one wants to do any type of work that is too hard they have so many jobs that they do not care even though we are paying customers and have money to pay. Thank you for completely wasting my time, gas and my weekend that I could have been working. Don't bother to respond because whatever you say...
