I found Space Age Cooling and Heating Inc. on Google after experiencing a lightning strike in close proximity to my AC unit during a severe Florida storm. Space Age was the only HVAC service provider that had regular working hours on a Saturday into the early evening in my area. Additionally, after comparison with another HVAC service provider in the area that operated on emergency hours at the time of my call, Space Age had the most reasonable service fee. I contacted the company's answering service an hour before closing, I promptly received a return phone call from Craig Lambert the General Manager. He politely explained that all of the technicians had already been scheduled to work into the late evening. He thoughtfully scheduled a service call for first thing the next morning. He was prompt and courteous upon arrival the next morning. He took the time to test the circuitry and components in the system. After thoroughly troubleshooting the system, the circuit card in the air handler was deemed the failed sub-assembly and would not be available for the next few days. It was a holiday weekend and I dreaded suffering in the heat and humidity over the next few days. His extensive knowledge and expertise allowed him to configure the circuitry to operate safely and efficiently until the circuit card could be acquired. Original review 2016.Space Age delivers superior custo11/2016. Customer service and installation at an honest, affordable price. They installed a 4 ton AC unit at my home in Satellite Beach in October 2016. I was instantly impressed with Space Age when they showed up to give me a quote. Cody was on-time and friendly. Unlike other companies, he didn't guess what size AC unit I needed. Instead, he entered the exact size and specs of my home into a computer program so my AC unit would be perfectly sized. Beyond the 10 year parts and service warranty, Space Age also includes a 1 year "Love It or We'll Replace it Warranty". It gave me peace of mind that if there was something wrong with the AC that I just didn't like, they would install something else. I've met the owner Lathan before and I feel comfortable that he's a man of his word who would honor such warranties. Other people in the community told me the same thing. The installation was smooth and on-time. Space Age kept to their schedule despite a high number of repair calls bombarding them 5 days after Hurricane Matthew. Read moreEveryone from the receptionist to the technicians were professional, polite, knowledgeable, prompt, and accommodating. I called late in the evening because my AC quit cooling and Mike (I think) was here 1st thing the next day. I believe it was a Saturday because all my kids were home. It was chaotic and Mike acted like it was nothing. He walked over kids, toys, etc... and did not get frazzled by my crew. He thoroughly explained what the issue was, explained my options and fixed the problem. Also, I should mention that I had to leave the house while he was working and was told that the employees are background checked and licensed so as not to worry about leaving the house unattended.
My AC quit working again a couple of days later and was told that this time it was something else entirely. Though they did waive the service fee (so grateful) since I just paid a few days ago for the 1st problem, I still had to pay for labor and parts that were required this time around. I just had a hard time understanding why both problems weren't found initially. I asked why and the technician (not Mike) was very thorough in his explanation, but I just couldn't make sense of it.
