Tonight I tried Mavericks 321 for the first time. I've been wanting to try it for a long time. The pictures of the meals and the reviews were so good. I have to say I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the Twisted Cuban because the description sounded so delicious. I really wanted to try the pork. To my surprise, when I got it, I opened it up and found like a teaspoon of pork for the WHOLE sandwich!! I mean, the pork was the whole reason I ordered the sandwich. There was one thin slice of salami, cut in half, one half for each side of the sandwich. Same for the ham. I also ordered a chocolate mousse (the cheesecake I wanted to try was not available) and it tasted like pure alcohol. So much so that it burned my throat as I swallowed it, and later gave me stomach pains. Although, if you're a drinker, you might actually enjoy that. Needless to say, I didn't eat any of it. I wasted $20 on a meal that wasn't worth it. Then I looked at my daughter, who ordered the bacon cheeseburger wrap, and she asked me if she could throw it away because she didn't like it. So, another meal in the trash. So disappointing. I know restaurants are suffering these days; they're shorthanded and need help, but dang, this was sooo bad. My husband said he liked his, but he'll eat anything. I also want to mention that ours was takeout. It is possible the food is better if you eat in the restaurant, but I'll...
Read moreAfter reading numerous reviews, we chose this place for a great prime rib to celebrate two birthdays with a party of six. The location, situated in a plaza, offered ample parking. Upon entering, a lengthy bar area with abundant seating greeted us. The establishment was clean, and the sports broadcasts on televisions were audible without overpowering table conversations. The service was exemplary—professional and efficient. Our table ordered three king prime ribs. Unfortunately, all three were served below room temperature, impacting the overall experience. While the mushrooms on the steak were bursting with flavor, the temperature issue compromised their enjoyment. The king prime rib proved exceedingly tough, and the spicy horseradish was cold and watery. The garlic mashed potatoes were hot but lacked a distinct garlic flavor. The mac 'n' cheese, though rich and cheesy, suffered from being at room temperature. The meatloaf was commendable—meaty, flavorful, and smothered in a tasty marinara with a satisfying crunch from the fried onions. However, the portion of meatloaf was generous, and I wished there were more mashed potatoes or that the meatloaf was served separately or off to the side. One diner tried the crab-stuffed mahi, and while there was no picture, they reported it as good. Overall, if seeking a great prime rib, I wouldn't consider returning to this establishment based on...
Read moreGreat local spot in Satellite Beach right off of A1A that has recently opened. As good as this place is I'm surprised it isn't packed round the clock. I have tried it twice at lunch so far and haven't been disappointed yet. It is tough to narrow down what I like best about this spot; friendly staff, great service, great food, good drink selection, the list goes on. The crab stuffed mushroom caps are a family favorite and the spicy mahi fish dip was very tasty. The inside seating is very clean and spacious and the layout includes darts, games, multiple TVs for sports, as well as some local history with pieces of "Annie" the Meritt Island River Dragon on display. The outside of the resturant includes a beach shower station so you can rinse off if you are walking over from Bucanneer Beach before taking advantage of the outside seating area and bar. The ice creams are all made in house and they all contain alchohol and have a really good balanced flavor if you are looking for something on the sweeter side. If you are looking for a filling meal be sure to bring your appetite as even the lunch sized portions are sizable. Finally,if you are in the mood for something more than beer, wine, or hard cider, for the moment, you may have to wait a bit as I believe they are in the process of getting their liquor license. Don't drive by without giving it a try you won't be...
