Update January 2022 Since my previous review in 2018 I've made countless trips and spent far more money than my husband would approve of at this Goodwill Outlet. I was pleased to see that the price per pound for clothing only increased by .10¢ since I first started shopping here in 2018. Savannah GWO has been one of my favorite places to shop up until this past year. I don't know if it's Covid or a change in management but shoppers here are out of control. Staffing does nothing about it. Shoppers charge bins before wheels are locked and they get pushed into people, buggys and employees. The shoe bins are especially dangerous, shoppers charge these bins in pairs, grab and throw pairs of shoes across bins to their partners across the room. I was nearly taken out by a pair of chunky sandals just two weeks ago. In addition to almost being hit in the face with shoes, in my most recent trip there was a group of 4 women shopping with a little girl who was maybe one and a half years old. This child was left unattended in a shopping cart for 45 minutes. It's not the responsibility of store associates to care for children but it is certainly their responsibility to tend to the store's liability. Customers approaching bins prior to being in locked positions and released for shopping, children being left unattended for any period of time and customers being allowed to throw anything in the store are unacceptable practices that could very well land this location in a lawsuit if something isn't changed immediately. In addition to my review I will also be reaching out to Goodwill of Southeast Georgia about these practices and give it a month or so before I make a return visit to see if anything has changed. I'm hopeful that with a little time these careless and dangerous practices can be changed and order will be restored to this location.
Review from 2018 Not a bad store. This was my first trip to a Goodwill Outlet and it met my expectations. I found some excellent pieces and two pairs of cute wedges. The staff was friendly, some of the other shoppers definitely have room for improvement though. Regardless, I spent 4.5 hours in the store on 11/20/18, I'll probably drop in again next...
Read moreEdited to say... Went on Friday 8/23/ 2024. Prices have increased to 1:79 a pound and .99 cents a pound. This is long winded but its for other shoppers to be aware of the lack of product. Air is now fixed after around 2 months with no air in JULY!!!!! This air breaks every year or so. Its a common occurrence and it takes forever to get fixed when it does break.
The bins were being put away at 3:30. Keep in mind the store closes at 7 pm. This was not a rotation to bring more product back out. This was putting the bins away. So I would say around 4 pm only about a third of the merchandise is available to purchase. So the store is half empty at 4 and is that way until closing at 7. So if you are trying to get the best product I would advise not really coming after 3pm. Be aware this has probably already been picked over as well. In the past they brought out a clothes rotation at 2. I am not sure this is happening anymore. Its not really the best after they put half of the bins away. . I think they do combine a row or two but it makes the top so high its really a lot to go through and stuff drops all over the floor. Also about half of the shoes and maybe even purses and books are blocked at this point because they store the empty bins up next to the shoes, purses and books bin. I really think they should close the store early to do all the putting away and sweeping. It doesn't make sense to me why they are open for sales but more than half of the product is not available for purchase. It is awkward as you are looking to have them put away the bins when you know they aren't bringing new product back out. Read below they start time to put away was 4:30ish. Now the store is pretty bare at 5 instead of 6:30
My original review. My favorite store. I loved reading all the reviews. A lot were negative because I don't think people understand that this is an outlet. I guess some have come to shop and don't get the outlet concept. The employees are pretty friendly and helpful. I do wish the bins could stay out longer in the evening. They employees are usually putting bins away around 4:30 to 5. I would say by 6:30 there is only about half of the bins out...
Read moreWell I went into THE VAULT opening day I was not impressed at all . The price 's were truly to high to start off with . What bothers me the most about your company is to be honest .. it's gotten to be very expensive. A company who has people donate there stuff to you ..but for probably the same person.. who just handed you there things expecting you to make a difference in there community .but to be honest you all say that you help with hiring people & training them for a job . Well don't every company do that when they hire someone ? It's a joke . Basically your company is a money making for yourself and wow you pay your employees ? just like every other company's? The difference is they don't advertise about it . What makes me upset is Salvation Army doesn't get nearly what you all receive from the community .. but yet they do several thing for us like Toy 4 Tots , Help with people bills , gives people clothes when needed , has a building that feeds the homeless and gives them a place to sleep at night, they help out with furniture etc.. when there is a disaster & hiring people as well.for there company not just that they have to hire people that stand outside in the cold weather so children will be able to have something under there Christmas tree.. They do so much more than give someone a job and no I'm not affiliated with Salvation Army . Im just speak from what I see. How can your company think that charging someone for a shirt 12.99 or for a jump suit 19.99 & for a ceramic doll 39.99 . I mean where does all that go to ? Not the community unless you mean opening another place so there more money...
