Not only did we look at hours on the website but we called the Goodwill number and they told us an attendant would be available and the dropoff would be open. We got there to find no attendant, the doors closed, and an absolute disgraceful scene.
People try to do the right thing and donate items to help those less fortunate but for Goodwill to not even care to leave those donated items for weeks in the hot sun and storms is just disrespectful. Before you come at me and say, "Well they could have been donated that same day" NOPE, no way, items have been out there awhile just by looking at them with the boxes soaked and other items sun bleached. If you don't have an attendant to work the hours then you need to change your hours or close down that location temporarily until you can have someone to monitor and clean up that disgrace.
We then went to another Goodwill at the Sallie Mood location where we met with very nice and hospitable gentlemen named Dwight and Kevin. They went out of their way to help us get out U-Haul full of donations unloaded.
Goodwill, because of those two gentlemen our faith in Goodwill was restored after seeing and visiting the awful location at Victory Drive. If it weren't for Kevin and Dwight we would never have donated to Goodwill again or recommend others to donate to Goodwill. I am really hoping you (Goodwill) will find some way to show your appreciation for their hard work and determination.
As for the Goodwill Victory Drive location, DO BETTER, because that place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis goodwill is sooooo expensive. Did they forgot the stuff was donated for free?. This is for the person that does the pricing.. reality check please omg. This is supposed to be a place where people come to shop for great deals and to really help out others also that canāt afford to shop retail. Why is your price higher than retail for used items? I will let you know because the item is new and the tag says a retail price, it almost never sells for that. There is always store sales and clearance and promotions etc. please, donāt get greedy. Then there is Marshalls, tjmaxx and Ross and your prices are higher than theirs for clothing and home decor thatās quite frankly used and beat up also. $39.99 for a painting?. Please, visit home goods I beg you. Because I can buy a wall size modem painting for $60. This is ridiculous beyond words!!! Even the Kirkland $200 paintings sells for $9.99 at the Kirkland store on a sale. Children clothing.. have u been shopping?.. Kenneth Cole, Columbia, Tommy, guess, Calvin Klein etc etc. they all sell for $9.99 or less at retail stores. U guys sell 5.99 and 7.99 for a shirt than sells brand new at Ross and Burlington for 4.99? Where is the logic? A fake plant decor in a 4 inch pot with it broken and the plant falling out for $4.99? It cost $3.99-6.99 at the retail stores. Seriously, be a good human and think about how you can help people who shop there and not how you can rip them off. Kindness tends to have a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreApparently their donation center closes at 7 even though the store closes at 8. I called and could not talk to a human person, just a machine, and no where on the website does it mention donation center hours. We packed up a truckload of things to be donated only to be turned away at the door because they were closing up! Very upsetting and frustrating. The man on duty was kind enough to at least take on of the large cabinets we had so we wouldnāt have to go home and unload everything again. There really needs to be a better way to make clear the hours and policies! We had boxes and boxes and boxes of books that were so heavy and it was not fun having to load and unload them just to load them back up again tomorrow. The truck is my husbandās work truck so he canāt go to work with a truck full of books and furniture. Why have a number on google at all if you canāt reach an actual human person. I do not like this automated message world we live in. Bathrooms still out of order. We shop here regularly. At least the cleanliness overall is...
