Banana Box has been a treasure trove of markdown grocery, as well as a help to the community, for many years now. They sell food and drugstore items that had dented packaging, didn't sell in other stores, or overstocked food items that came from bigger stores, at a majorly reduced price. On Thursdays they get their produce, sometimes selling blueberries for a dollar a package. The Banana Box lineup is always carrying something new and exciting. Sometimes the fancy name brand or organic stuff shows up for a third of its original cost. The staff is consistently friendly without being invasive, very down to earth people that will give you a soft hello and a smile. The owner is kind. Their items aren't overpriced, and in fact are low enough to make a significant cut in a weekly grocery cost. I can't tell you how many times it helped my family through financial struggles to purchase all our dry goods, frozen items, and pet foods from Banana Box. Even if it is just out of curiosity, make sure you stop by to look over their stock. You'll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood produce, and okay prices. There's really not a huge savings for me between here and just shopping smart at other places by buying more on sales but the reason ill keep going here is that the owner didn't let someone bring in their "service animal". The dog was very obviously NOT trained as a legitimate service animal as it was sniffing up everyone's legs the second it walked in. Ill keep shopping here bc they were turned away. Im so sick of seeing all these "emotional support animals" all over the place not doing an actual job. I find it especially appalling that the big chain stores here are allowing that on a regular basis. The law only applies to those truly disabled and to animals actually trained. It's illegal to have animals around food so big, big praise to this store for following the law and allowing me the only place in the area to not have to lintroll dog fur off my legs when I'm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot so sure about the great deals other reviewers talked about, but I was getting frustrated as I had 3 children with me, and I couldn't keep them contained. I was only looking at the food. I was told after that the real bargains are in the non food and I didn't look at those. I will go back to check them out. I did see several things I would have liked to purchase, but they were several months out of date. There is a variety of things. So my takeaway is to check the dates and where dents are in the cans. I was also told you should get there pretty early before the best stuff is sold out. I was there around 12. I'll try it again and see if the experience is better. There did not seem to be a dedicated space for the same type of items, so just roam about to see what there is. The staff was very nice and friendly. There are no bathrooms, so if you have little ones, be...
