Very poor customer experience and employee interaction. Shopping for a new printer. Verified online that store # 6792 had one in stock. Drove to the store. Danielle assisted me, and informed that they were out of stock. I explained that their site showed it was in stock. She looked, and said they had one in stock, which was the display, and that had I ordered it, the cart would have shown zero in stock. She explained that the website designers expected customers to order products online, and they pick them up. They were not ready for customers to simply check for availability and then visit the store to purchase. So, she reiterated that I need to order product in the future, and then visit the store to avoid this issue. She then checked another store, told me they showed two in stock, and that it was only 12 miles away. Through all of this, she had a very condescending delivery, and actually said āif I had the ability to solve this, I wouldnāt be working hereā. Side note, I went home, added this printer to my cart, and proceeded to the payment step. I could have purchased, and picked it up at the store in 20 minutes.
A couple of recommendations to Office Max. First, inventory control and accuracy online today is important. If the floor model is not to be sold, then available inventory for that store online for that product should be zero. Second, employees should be educated on how the systems work. Since I was able to immediately add the printer to my cart, and go to the payment step, it is apparent that this employee was incorrect in her understanding of how inventory works as it relates to the website. Third, ensure your customer facing employees are pleasant. I felt uncomfortable...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot a review of an individual, a review of a company's policy!! Many big block stores have express services for small quantities and quick in & out.
Not so at Office Max. Came into N Scottsdale store yesterday to get #4 color prints on cardstock. *The personal copier was not an option, lower quality output, hassle w cardstock, time consuming experience for users, i.e., me.
Drop-by service at copy/print desk not available, you must be put into a job-que and come back when job is complete (all this for 4 copies, reallyšfor ~180 seconds of work).
By the time the order was written and pre-payment taken, I could have had my small order of 4 prints done & out .. come on Office Max, how about integrating alittle old fashion customer service into your practices!!!
Would have been happy to pay add'l courtesy fee to get job done during 1x visit.
Hope your Regional & Corporate execs are looped in, not that they'll even give a-second-thought.. Big Box, Big Business, BS.
(whew, glad I got that off my mind, on to bigger & better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to get e paper cut. Copy department was very busy with one person working. The manager did come over and tried to help. I ended up with over 30 cuts being done. The blade was not sharp on the machine so some of my papers have rough edges & the cuts were slightly off. Good thing I didn't need them for professional use! The department didn't have a working stapler, staples once they found a stapler, no scissors, ruler or pencils! Seriously, this is an office supply store! The employee that was helping me did acknowledge the dull blade & the cuts being off only by saying "The blade is probably at the end if it's life." I asked if I should come back when it was replace but he also said it most likely wouldn't be any time soon. The manager of the store that was trying to help really didn't know his way around the...
