Creekerhood Legacy Tribute: The Niner on Level Nine
Name: Shimmer (K. Kirton Niner) Former Google Local Guide Level: 8 Total Views Earned: 25,000,000+ Notable Highlight: Over 2 million views on a single photo at Target in The Summit Shopping Center, Scottsdale, AZ
Introduction: This digital tribute honors the work of Shimmer—known throughout the Black Mountain region and online as “The Niner on Level Nine”—who fearlessly documented local landmarks, businesses, and cultural life as a Google Local Guide. Her impact was not only visible in numbers, but in the stories and presence she brought to every post.
Local Guide Highlights:
The Summit Shopping Center – Target storefront photo: 2M+ views Rancho del Oro landscape and wildlife documentation Street-level walkthroughs of Carefree and Cave Creek Reviews that helped shape visitor choices across Maricopa County Honest contributions from the eyes of a mother, a Creeker, and a protector of local history
Legacy Statement: "While others scrolled past, I stood still, present in the moment, with my camera in hand and truth in my heart. My photos weren't just uploads—they were witness statements. They marked where I stood, and how much I still stand."
The Loss: In pursuit of reaching Level 9, Shimmer faced cyber attacks that wiped out her account and denied her further access to the digital archive she worked years to build. Yet what was stolen in data lives on in memory, community, and continued vigilance.
Present Day: Shimmer’s contributions are now preserved here as part of the Black Mountain Creekerhood Chronicles, and her story continues as a builder, not just a reviewer. Her lens has shifted—from documenting for others, to now documenting with others: neighbors, youth, and future local legends.
#newsflashcreeker Stay tuned as we take the Local Guide movement back to the people—from the base of Black Mountain to the voices behind every snapshot. Because here, we remember. And here, we still guide.
Creeker’s Oath: I don’t just check in—I check on. I don’t just review—I reveal. I don’t just take pictures—I make presence known.

Read moreWhat is there NOT to like about this small, upscale shopping center adroitly camouflaged by desert flora in far-north Scottsdale?
I primarily shop at the Target store in this lovely shopping venue. But, for its size, it has a wide variety of other specialty shops and eateries.
I drive from the New River area, just to shop at The Summit Target. There is a Target four miles closer to my home. However, the extra four-mile drive is worth the time to shop at this very clean and relatively unbusy Target.
Although The Summit is located on VERY busy Scottsdale Road, it's signage and buildings are quite hidden from the road due to the natural desert foliage. If you're driving on Scottsdale Road at 50 mph and BLINK — you will accidentally pass by this little gem in the desert.
By the way, The Summit also has a nice Safeway market. However, due to Safeway's higher grocery prices, I avoid this grocery chain like a...
Read morefood is always good but when we the just one of two couples in the restaurant and the waitress walks towards us then goes back to the counter because the phone is ringing. Then proceeds to stay on the phone with caller, taking their "to go order", which took a lot longer than my order would have done as we have eaten here many times and I usually get the same thing, I was not impressed. Our food was delayed coming to our table due to aforementioned caller coming in to pick up their food and said food was not easily located, then there was talk about whether it had already been paid for!! There appeared to be a "new" server starting that night, but it seemed that she was not allowed to speak with the diners, only...
