Blu Burger Grille — Restaurant in Scottsdale

My husband and I went here on a Saturday afternoon, we were craving burgers and I had read reviews and knew it would be good. We didn't realize how far north it actually was. We sat inside because it was breezy outside. It was pretty busy but it was past lunch time. Football was on the big screen which pleased my husband. My husband loved his iced tea and my diet coke was great too. He had a regular cheeseburger and fries with ranch and was happy with his food. I ordered the Kobe beef burger with cheddar cheese, honey mustard, lettuce and pickles on a pretzel bun. Wow! Fabulous! It was a hearty burger, very filling, I couldn't eat it all but it was so good I wanted to. I had the sweet potato fries with ranch, also fabulous and I did eat them all. They were thick and cooked perfectly. We also ordered the zucchini fries and they were good too, but we had already had our fill of grease, so we didn't eat too many. A friend and I went to lunch at Blu Burger May 21st and it was honestly terrible. When you enter the restaurant the decor and lighting is garbage. It's mediocre at best, the ugly blue paint was chipping and the black paint along the air vents were disgusting (capped in dirt and dust). Let's not forget the manager and one of the employees were sitting near us and having there own lunch while cleaning the silverware. I ordered the $14 chicken ceaser salad which was okay apart from the ridiculous price. I can go to Cartwright in cave creek which is a 4-5 start restaurant and there salad price is $10. my friend got the chicken wings ($12 for 8 wings) which may sound like a obvious bad choice for a north Scottsdale resturant but for a burger bar you would expect it to be very good. He said it felt like rubber and bland and tasted like it was microwave. The silverware was disgusting and had spots all over it. The bathroom was atrocious needs updating asap. The entire establishment needs a remodel. I'm never going back and I'm telling everyone I know...

Blu Burger is a find. If you are in the area, check it out. Up Scottsdale road quite a bit, and cozly nestled in a shopping area, there is inside and patio seating. We were greeted and seated immediately, even though the place was busy when we arrived. Mandy was our server and is excellent! We sat at the bar next to the gelato... small batch made locally! Tried the coffee and chocolate chip flavor, awesome! My buddy and I tried the "build a burger" with Bison, I hadn't tried Bison before. It was a fantastic burger, flavorfull, juicy, but not greasy. I opted for the lettuce wrap and onion rings, the rings were crispy and sweet, and everything was perfect. My buddy ordered his with sourdough and fried zucchini, he barely came up for air!
