Absolutely the worst food lion I’ve ever been to. I was standing in line at self-check out waiting to go. A customer had just finished up and a lane was free. I waited a minute because I thought there was other people in line. I looked over at 2 workers who were chatting and the person with me said “are they in line?” No one answered, so we proceeded to the open self checkout line. We started scanning and were already half way finished when we were approached my an older woman who was short with gray almost white hair (don’t have her name). She proceeds to say “excuse me, there’s a line for self checkout.” We both apologized and said that we had been waiting and no one proceeded to the open line so we did. She then replied and said “well there is a line and you have to wait your turn.” So I replied and asked “well did you want me to stop scanning and allow someone else to come up?” And she proceeds to say “no” so then I asked “why did you come over to say this then?” And she states that she was watching and directing the line. After we explicitly seen her and another coworker chatting in front of the end cap of sodas in front of one of the isles leaning on a cart that had water in it. We assumed this was a put back cart. She then walked away, as we were finishing up our scanning proceeding to pay she reproached us and stood behind us lingering for a moment. Then tried to accuse us of stealing a lemon as we had already acknowledged on the pop up screen that we were purchasing 2 lemons. We then said we already paid for this and finished up paying as she walked away. This wasn’t the first encounter with this lady as we’ve been to this store once before and seen her explicitly watching Black customers as they check out but paying no mind to others. Read moreThis place is normally amazing but today I go in to grab a few things go to the deli with my cart so clearly I'm waiting to be helped there were three deli workers and two people waiting yet all three decided it took three people to wait on one person so I still wait then two more people walk up.and they jump right to them and at this point now I'm pissed so I say you gotta be kidding me after 20 minutes and think it's a joke so not professional what so ever and gonna come back with oh I didn't know you needed help like so I'm just standing at the deli with my cart off groceries and my son because y'all don't have the pre packaged lunch meat or cheese ready y'all just doing God knows what and chosing who you wait on this deli is in desperate need of better employees the only decent person who works in the deli is Margie and sadly she wasn't working other then that very poor 20 mins to actually wait on me and only reason I got helped is because I had to open my mouth and definitely shouldn't have been waiting for 20 mins...
Read moreA few things, first off management was very helpful and forthcoming in resolving my dilemma, and going above and beyond to contact corporate to make sure it was taken care of. However, that being said....some (not all) the employees spend more time conversing with each other than the customers they're serving. My 'dilemma' was caused by a lack of attentive customer service, and two managers had to clean up said employees inattentive error. A very avoidable situation, tbh. It's extremely rude and quite obvious some staff are detached from their job. You don't like what you're doing, leave if you don't want to work . You're representing a company.
