A Nostalgic Stroll Down Seal Beach Pier

Finding a place that's near and dear to my heart, like Seal Beach Pier, is a rare treat. Returning after many years, I was enchanted to discover that the charm and small-town allure I remembered from my childhood remain intact.

This pier is a haven for lovers of tranquility and natural beauty. Whether you're a sunset enthusiast or, unlike me, an early riser captivated by sunrises, Seal Beach Pier does not disappoint. The scenic walks along the pier, with the gentle sea breeze, make for a truly unforgettable experience.

For those with kids, this spot offers more than just stunning views. There's a fantastic play park set right on the sand, and the beach itself is a natural playground. These amenities make it an ideal destination for a family outing.

The town's cozy atmosphere is amplified by the array of quaint shops and delectable restaurants that line the nearby streets. It's a sensory experience that's hard to beat.

Adding to the local charm, the pier often hosts various vendors selling beautiful pieces of art and street performers filling the air with music. This eclectic mix of activities gives the area a vibrancy and life that's unique to Seal Beach Pier.

So, if it's been a while since your last visit, or if you've never experienced the magic of Seal Beach Pier, I would strongly recommend you rectify that. It's a cherished gem that's maintained its sparkle through the years. Five out of five stars for this...

Seal Beach Pier has endured through the years and remains a favorite spot for both locals and visitors, offering stunning views of the ocean, surfers, Long Beach, and the Queen Mary in the distance, along with pleasant, casual walks. Sunrise and sunset walks here are amazing, too.

Located in a charming area of Seal Beach, you'll find clean beaches, a Main St filled with shops, restaurants, and more to check out. A great location to walk, jog, or take the dog out. Next to the pier, there is a playground for kids and street music on occasion. A few seasonal events will happen around the pier as well.

I come out to fish once in a while, and it's the first pier I fished at when I was a kid. You can fish for a variety of species such as mackerel, halibut, croakers, sea bass, thresher sharks, leopard sharks, and more! Every year, there's a family fishing day with raffles, good community, and fun.

There used to be a Ruby's restaurant at the end of the Pier, but it burned down. After the repairs and reopening in May 2019, the area was left clear, which is still nice for visitors to spread out and enjoy the atmosphere.

There are two paid parking lots available on either side of the pier. Payment is through the self-serve kiosk or the Passport parking app and is charged by the hour. There are some free street parking, but they are tougher to snag, especially on weekends. And some areas have...

I take my 10 year old son fishing every week. He’s gotten good at setting up his lines with the right hooks, sinkers and spindles. Seal Beach pier has so much potential, but, it is like the blighted part of the city. I’d be ashamed to be a police officer on this pier. It’s bathrooms don’t open early, the cleaning sinks have no running water and they’re dirty. Instead of pulling in the big ones , you’ll find yourself pulling in floating debris. I came hear years ago to volunteer with a clean up effort by a woman (who has since passed away) and we were getting somewhere. Now, it’s so sorry looking. It’s quite a shame that they can’t see the forest while standing amongst the trees. So many visiting tourists seem disappointed if not for the amazing sunsets. I see the potential, let’s gather a group and do...
