I would have probably given this place a 3 to 4 star due to some of the same reasons I've seen others say we're issues. The yard guys don't seem to want to take the initiative. If you don't say “Hey can you help me” they will pretend you are not there even though they look right at you multiple times, but today just determined my not doing business with them anymore?
I called to place an order to be picked up. I am not able to get my truck out due to the recent rains and wanted the material to fix this problem. My friend was going to pick up me. I was transferred to a voice mail, called back and hung up on before I could say anything, and then talked to pretty rudely with a rush to get off the phone. I finally got the kid to listen to me and answer my questions. So they are only doing in-person sales? That was what he said. No one could talk to me to take my quick order. He told me they stepped out and wouldn't be back for an hour, at first, then it went to the only in-person sales. I can't even understand how that is a thing, especially in these times. I am a bit shocked that any company would say or do something of that nature in their business. There was no solution or care to find one. I was quickly dismissed without a care in the world.
I am very about supporting local businesses! One reason I have been choosing AL&M instead of saving money by going to Lowe’s where I prefer to go. I will be glad to visit and buy from Lowe’s again.
Update:::: So the owner or honestly don’t know her specific title but up there reached out, we played phone tag. Still haven’t spoken. I decided to try again. Although most everyone was very friendly and helpful, with the exception of the person who checked me out. She was very annoyed as I was in conversation with another customer trying to keep up with the checkout. It was an important conversation about solar panels lol She was huffing and annoyed and then drew a line on the credit card machine to sign for me. I saw it but chose not to make a big deal. Not a good idea to do. There were a few other mistakes with the wood I bought but it was a young new kid who helped me. Very friendly and caring! Honest mistake. I am not here to point fingers but to expose any areas of concern. Truth. I feel the intention of this company is great! Maybe just some training and a few kinks. Much better than the last experience. Changing my rating to 3, maybe it will continue...
Read moreI've not been here in months but was not impressed by this visit. One item I purchased regularly is a grab stick to help extend my reach. Since purchasing several at first of this year, I stopped today to replace them and found price increased 99%. Plus I'm in knee brace using a cane and hobbling around as well as possible. Employee offered no help with my limited mobility, besides having move around cashier station and left me to juggle my purse, my cane, and 4 loose grab sticks. Im not helpless but could have used a little help. This employee is possibly new as I didn't...
