Saddleback saloon — Restaurant in Sealy

I've been a customer of theirs off and on for several years now. Recently, I decided to become a "regular" as I've gained a real appreciation for the "friendly, laid-back" atmosphere. Ever walk into a bar and get a "grumpy" vibe? Not here, not ever. Numerous "themed" nights: live bands on Saturday (sometimes a small cover charge) , Free pool night (Wednesdays), Texas Hold-em (Thursdays) and $1 chilidog night on Mondays (just to name a few). As a former "drink-slinger", I can be a bit picky when it comes to bartender knowledge, product variety, and service. I must say, with only one exception (they don't carry my favorite mixing gin :( ), I've never been disappointed in this regard (BTW, they make a very smooth Patron margarita (highly recommended)). Beer selection is slightly above average for a bar this size- but all the popular brands (and a few surprises) are carried. The food selection here is a little more than what you would expect. I witnessed a horrible discrimination event at this establishment recently. The female bar tender kept refusing to serve two Hispanic girls saying it was too late and that her credit card machine was not working, they even said they could pay cash and she still refused to serve them. She kept serving every one else including 2 white girls that were sitting at the bar and the guys at the pool table were also able to still place drink orders. She (bartender) kept telling the Hispanic girls she’s not serving anyone else when they asked for another drink. I witnessed Another Hispanic person that walked in, and she said they were closing and that person left . This is very disturbing and discriminatory on her part. When I feel lazy and don’t want to drive to Katy I’ll come here. I don’t go too often because if you’re not a regular you don’t get great service. Also! I put a song on the jukebox and it got skipped !! I paid for a song .. and it got skipped!! I saw the bartender grab the controller cringe and change my song !! Needless to say I was disappointed and ruined my vibe. I guess you can only play country music and classic rock. The only reason why I don’t give this place a 1 star is because the atmosphere is chill, I like it. The overall service is mediocre at best and like I said previously if you’re not a regular or a local fuhgettaboutit ! I haven’t tried the food so no comments or opinions on that, Sorry.
