I went with another vendor after a slow and frustrating experience with Greenhome. Following a basement flood and carpet extraction, I asked their staff on a Saturday to get the process started to install new floor. I was told I was "on the list". When I didn't hear from them by end of day Monday, I called them. The staffer who answered tried to make it sound like I was being completely unreasonable expecting a call back the next business day. The coordinator doesn't work on Mondays, he said. When I expressed hope for a call on Tuesday, he pushed back and said she had so very much to do (oh, it must be terrible), that it would likely be Wednesday or Thursday before I was contacted. All this, just to schedule someone to come out and measure the job?! On Wednesday afternoon, not having heard anything, I called again, and the coordinator refused to get on the phone with me. She proceeded to ping me on email back and forth for over an hour, explaining that she couldn't possibly get anyone out to my house until the following week. So much time wasted for a conversation that would have taken 2 minutes over the phone and really should have been done on my first visit the prior Saturday. At this point, I ended up getting two other vendors to bid the job much quicker (all 3 actually came out the same day, despite the later start). Then, it took multiple days for Greenhome to turn the bid around. I guess math is hard!? I had the other two bids well in hand before Greenhome deigned to send me theirs. And then, Greenhome's bid came in way higher than the other two -- of the three estimators who saw the floor, only Greenhome wanted to charge me an extra $1,000 to do additional leveling. To my eyes, the floor is plenty level already, and neither of the other bidders tried to pull the stunt Greenhome did of charging me an extra thou. They seem to think they're so "green" and "fabulous" that they can move slow as molasses and overcharge people. Not me, jerks. Your products are nice, but your customer service sucks. I had a great experience with Greenhome for installing new floors. They give great advice regarding which type of floor to use for which area. Also, we wanted to replace carpet in the bedrooms of our condo and didn't want to make life difficult for our downstairs neighbors by creating a much noisier environment. At the same time, we wanted a non-toxic material to install in the bedrooms. Ruslan at Greenhome did research for us and gave us a couple of options, with complete specifications; we were able to quickly choose the best solution for us and our neighbors. The installers, Peter and his colleague , came on time on the scheduled day and did an excellent job installing the floors, including in a closet that was not part of the original estimate and was a challenge because of uneven floors. I really appreciated the flexibility and willingness to help. Finally, cost-wise it was cheaper than another company I had asked an estimate from. I think that it was a fair price in view of the type of material we wanted (sustainable, non-toxic) and the difficulty of the job (uneven floors). So, excellent experience all around. And I love the fact that we can trust the material they use and don't have to worry about installing unhealthy, VOC-emitting material...

This week, I called Green Home Solutions three times about outdoor sealants and spoke with different sales people. Each of them were very courteous. Today (my third call), I spoke with Tess at length about my the product I was ready to purchase. Tess was very knowledgeable about the product, gave me tips about how to apply the product for the best results, and was super patient with me. I felt heard and understood, and like she was genuinely interested in helping me make the best decision for out project. Tess took additional steps to make sure I could meet my deadline. She was pleasant and caring. I feel so much more confident about our project and getting it done before the rain sets in. I appreciate the non-toxic products available to us through Green Home Solutions as well as the knowledgeable, kind, and down-to-earth service.
