I hope that management can carefully read my review to make some major changes. So here's the thing - when we first learned a Met Market was coming to our neighborhood we were soooo excited. And yes there are some GREAT food choices here. But I don't know why this happens - EVERY time we go there there is a problem and me and my spouse don't understand why!?!! Here is the timeline order: we went to the bakery dept. and were completely ignored for like 10 min. as 2 young employees happily chatted away then when we finally got help they seemed annoyed they even had to help us. On 5 separate occasions when we went to the hot food order section, we were ignored also for 10 min. straight even though there were employees behind the counter RIGHT in front of us!! I'm not making this up! 2 times when we asked for (some sort of stirfry bowl) they said they were "OUT" of a basic ingredient. There's NO way it wasn't in the store! A few times at QFC when I would order a sandwich if they were out of an ingredient they would just walk to the section of the store to quickly go get it. On 2 occasions when we arrived around 5pm, the hot food section like the mac n cheese were already dry and hardened looking. And this is supposed to be a high end store??!! Honestly me and my spouse are in disbelief! And then on 2 ocassions when we went to go get a product becase we had a coupon you guys were completely out! 2 times! Again I cannot believe this is a high end store?? If this is the manner that you guys are going to proceed to present then you seriously need to lower your prices! To put in perspective, in my 15 years living in this neighborhood I have NEVER had these problems at the Fred Meyer, Safeway and QFC in this neighborhood. Seriously this is shocking for a "high end" grocery store. Unaaceptable! We seriously don't understand why EVERY TIME we go there's a problem! Again, we NEVER experience this at other grocery stores. Why is this happening?? We decided today we will no longer be coming here. The funny thing is - the Met Market in Queen Anne is wonderful! Is this one in Crown Hill just not being managed well??...
Read moreI stopped by after work to grab some soup for my sick family, but apparently, wearing a hoodie and cargo pants makes me a VIP guest for surprise security check ins. VSO security officers whom I’m sure the company has trained extensively for rapid response decided to engage with me. She approached me and casually asked if everything was okay, playing it off as if she wasn’t monitoring me, which made me feel unwelcome. Casually hovering me, you know about 3-4 feet apart after I disengage and got my bagel
I was simply wearing cargo pants and a hoodie because it was cold outside, along with a pair of Vessi because of the rain not just any regular shoes. When I asked why she approached me while I was looking at the bread, she claimed she wanted to buy some croissants. That seemed odd, considering she quickly ran over, engaged me, and then signaled to one of the cashiers toward my direction.
Later, I confronted this security officer at the front and asked her what made her approach me. She admitted it was because I was wearing a hoodie. So, just because I had a hoodie on, she felt justified in approaching me in an unusual and unnecessary manner while I was simply shopping for groceries.
To make matters worse, as I got to the cashier, we had another awkward conversation this time about how good the bread supposedly was, as if that was her reason for noticing me from across the store.
I won’t be coming back here. You need to train your security staff better because this officer clearly lacks situational awareness and effective verbal communication. She essentially admitted to profiling me based on my clothing, which is unacceptable.
And the beard is good thanks for the thorough security inspection from across the store. Really appreciate the top tier surveillance on my facial hair. But next time, maybe stick to watching the exits instead of my grooming routine. Oh, and don’t ask me about my shopping list I like to keep my bread...
Read moreMy Indian partner and I stopped by the Crown Hill store today. It is a beautiful store and we have shopped here may times since it has opened. Today we were getting ingredients to make Shakshuka. After a few spins around the store we went through checkout isle 3. We had a nice chat and laughs about not bringing our reusable bags with the checkout person, paid and she handed us our receipt. We headed through the security exit and out to the car. Shortly after closing the car door we received a knock on the window from a plain clothed person with lunch in one of his hands asking for our receipt and claiming we had not paid. I assured him we had. This person was wearing t-shirt and jeans and did not seem related to the store in any way. We decided to close the door and leave. As we drove past the store entrance we could see 7 or 8 store employes standing out front pointing at us. We stopped and I went to see what the issue was. Another man said that we had gone through self checkout and hadn't paid. I assured him we didn't go through self checkout and that we had paid. I ended up going to the trunk and pulling out the receipt to show him. He was like ok. The plain clothed guy was still there and offered no apologies... like maybe even still suspicious of us. This was a really frustrating experience for us. I called in a spoke with the manager who was nice enough and offered his apologies. I am still left shocked though. I wonder how they can have all those employees and security standing right by self checkout and then mis-identify someone who came through another checkout stand. It seems like they should have direct eyes on a person who didn't pay and then follow them out. Anything less than that seems like harrasment. Guessing among good customers is just wrong. In our case we have decided we will no longer shop...
