This is a perfect way for busy people to cut right to the chase and get the gear they need for the trip they're headed out on. The last thing I want to spend my time at a ski resort doing is shopping. Instead, with MTN Gear you can drop into the store before you leave on your trip to get fitted and take your new threads with you or you can order online and have the gear shipped to your home or your destination. So far we've done the hybrid model and are super pleased. I demo'd and then purchased a full Marmot pants and jacket setup and my fiancée loves her new Narrona ski jacket. All these guys sell is high end stuff, there is no junk, but they take the risk out of buying pricier high performance gear. If you don't like it you just pay the demo cost and move on more educated than when when you started the process. If you like it then the demo cost comes out of the sales price and you go back to skiing until you need something else. Great system, great concept. We approve!

I recently purchased a jacket from MTN Gear and couldn’t be happier with the quality and comfort of it. Additionally, the jacket I originally had purchased wasn’t going to be available and their customer service contacted me and resolved the issue immediately. Because of the quality of the product and the proactive, top-notch customer service experience I will absolutely purchase from MTN Gear in the future.

Best shop to buy gear for the mountains! They carry top brands and have a try before you buy program. They seem to be expanding to new gear all the time (like hard goods - skis etc). They also sell Sunglasses. Locally owned and it shows!

I shouldn’t share what I know about this place, but they deserve to be better known. I really appreciate having this in my neighborhood, because it makes incredible outdoor gear available so that I don’t have to fight crowds at REI or elsewhere. You can RENT expensive stuff and try it out to decide if you’d like to invest in it. They also sell their rental gear, which makes really nice stuff available at reasonable prices. The selection is quite good given the size of their store. And the staff seem friendly and knowledgeable. It’s like having your own personal shopper at REI, but without the hassle of parking and jostling with a ton of other people. I’m going to regret giving this recommendation, because it’s going to be “discovered” by a zillion people. But darn if I don’t really want to shop here all the time. And I don’t...

Love having this locally owned store nearby! Went in on a whim and came out with a "try before you buy" Red Norrona women's jacket - which I now own and am LOVING!! It fits much better than my Patagonia and Chisholm (owner) was really knowledgeable about the finer points in outdoor gear, including women's wear.

Very friendly approach, with customer need and education coming first. After taking my family in there, my picky 15 year old son found stuff he liked!! Success! Great selection of high quality and fairly priced merchandise. Sign up for their online site and see additional items. Can't wait to see more items...
