I discovered that I had misplaced my phone and wallet (it turns out in the gift shop, when I set them down to look at something that my husband ended up buying from them). And instead of alerting me to the fact +we were the only customers in the shop at that time, they turned it into the staff at the fish market, for some unfathomable reason. When I realized I misplaced my phone and wallet, at the restaurant in the same building, and enlisted the help of the very kind restaurant staff to help me find my wallet and phone, the gift store staff and the fish market staff didn't say anything to me, though they clearly overheard and saw me desperately retracing my steps in both ships, looking for my list items. I had to go directly to the staff at the fish market and ask, rather than their telling me (or the restaurant hostess who was helping me) that they had them. Those women were very cold and uncharitable to me, and they somehow BOTH had to check my ID inside my wallet, and make me review my address and license number, before giving my possessions back to me. It's not like there was any other person looking for their list items. I think they were hoping to get away with not giving my wallet back to me, as I had nearly $200 in cash inside. I left with a feeling that there was something very shady, or at the very least, judgy and unkind, going on. I would have hoped for a little more sympathy, and understanding from them, like I got from the restaurant hostess, and other restaurant staff. I even apologized for adding stress to those folks' day. I was understandably upset at the prospect of losing such valuable items as BOTH my phone and wallet. It marred my, and my husband's, otherwise pleasant experience...

Went to the fish market today to buy clam chowder because the deli place next to it was closed and didn't want to eat at the restaurant. Well, we should have not bought anything but the oysters because boy was that clam chowder off the charts salty! It was basically so salty that it was inedible and super overpriced. I bought two of the larger containers at $25.00 each so we just wasted money on something that would have probably been better somewhere else. The little souvenir shop is cool though, will definitely go back, there are so many things to see and lots of...

Disgusting and discriminatory place, had the worst experience. Offensive comments from the waiter who made inappropriate assumptions based on my accent. He actually said this to my face because of my accent my credit card required additional verification. When I complained to a manager she shrugged and responded that he probably didn't mean it. Obviously will never dine here again and won't recommend this restaurant.

The view is the only good part of this establishment but you can enjoy the view from the deck without being a subject of mistreatment from...

I remember back in the 70's when the Tides was a sleepy little coffee shop, fish market and bait & tackle. We'd catch the "Sea Angler" off the back pier for some deep sea fishing. I think they were still recovering from that bird infestation a few years before. So tragic, those poor people. Anyway, now they're all fancy with their hotel and pricey restaurant. Can't have any smelly fishing boats hanging around mucking up the view. Well, the birds are watching and their day may come again. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Good place for some clam chowder. Just don't feed the big sea dogs out on the pier!

Many open seats, great views. The clam chowder in a bread bowl was delicious. The calamari was prepared nicely and very tasty. The shrimp cocktails were good. Tides have a lot to offer, from fresh sea food to smoked sea food & much more. The gift shop is a nice highlight. The ambiance is very comforting with a decor of fantastic pieces of art & more to purchase. Go onto the dock and view the bay with wild life such as sea lions, seagulls, pelicans & more.
