CAMPGROUND.....So disappointed in the campground... Its just get worse every year! I'm 55 years old and I've been coming every year since i can remember, so I've seen a lot of changes. Ya can't get hookups unless someone dies cause everyone can reserve their spot from last year ...that is unless you want to come wait in line for one of the 170 remaining spots on opening day of the campground. The bigger issue i have is that for the last 10 year we have hauled our motorcycle in our trailer into the campground and they have written the motorcycle license number down on the same gate pass as our truck with no extra charge. However, this year when we entered the gate we were told due to a new superintendent, the rules had changed and we had to purchase a visitors pass for $10. Ok, so we purchase the pass for the bike we're hauling as they ask us to. We rode in and out several days on our bike with no problems with this visitor pass that we HAD to purchase. On our last night we had rode our bike out for the evening and returned to the gate and was confronted by a kid, along with a young state patrol telling us we could not bring our motorcycle into the campground, after we had paid for the pass as they ask us to. Apparently, the visitor parking was full and no room for us to park. Ok, but we dont park there, we park in our toy hauler that we brought the bike in...are we seriously the only bike that has been hauled in? Sorry, we still cant let you go in! So, you're telling me we have a truck and trailer at our campsite and we cant ride our bike into the campground to our trailer to load it up and leave? So how are we suppose to get our truck and trailer? Finally, two older state patrols came and said they didnt see a problem with us getting back to our campsite. An older gentleman, who apparently works at the fair finally agreed it was ok to go to our toyhauler. Whew...thanks Missouri State Fair for ruining our night and vacation! If we ever return, we will NEVER stay in the campground again. Maybe they should put that much effort into controlling all the under aged drinking while driving golf carts on the grounds and public...
Read moreOk so here is my review of the Missouri State Fair from an Oklahoman point of view: Opening day: $4.00 day came from KCMO (1hr and 6 min drive). I arrived at 4:30 pm left 7:30 pm. I went through all vender buildings and even some livestock bldgs within an hour and half. What I liked: - they had a large outdoor sitting area with lots of trees. What I didn't like: not all buildings had public bathrooms. the majority of the buildings were small and open door (no A.C.) and not a whole lot of vendor booths (I mainly go to see all the vendor booths). not all vendor booths were in buildings some were in small circus style tents. (It's 92 degrees). There is a reason the Oklahoma State fair is advertised "The Great State Fair of Oklahoma" Missouri can't touch this. (See photos) I never heard a single commercial on the radio prior to the Missouri State Fair... I had to look it up on line. Food: Bonus: going on opening day you know everything was very fresh. -it took me over an hour to see a sign for a smoked turkey leg ( I only saw 3 booths) What?!? no strawberry crepes. What!?! -fresh corn on the cob one small booth 1 young kid manning the booth. remember Silver dollar cinnamon rolls with a team working in the window.- nope. closest one and only one booth is in picture. Food I took home to try: Smoked Turkey leg (was amazing) Bloomin union (was good) Funnel cake And cinnamon roll. Food I tried there: Wonderstick $6.00 was highly overpriced and not worth it. It was a giant mess... took 3 bites and threw it away. Curly fries: ate half: was good. All in all I'm glad I went but it really made me...
Read moreI went here to go to the sedalia gun show. Was more than disappointed and will nvr ever waste my time nor my money goin to this! I love guns and the gun fairs!! They had no signs showing were to go and the gps took us on a goose chase. And we weren't the only ones. When we finally were able to find the place, by asking a rude police officer, whom was goin to the same place. It was in a small building, and cost 10 dollars a head and even charged for the kids. In which I had taken just me and my girlfriend. Their weren't nothn really worth buying and only a handful of merchants there! When I tried to talk to one of them they acted like their conversations where more important and my time and money wasnt important. Like they really didnt want to sale anything. Very disappointed and a waste of my time and 20 bucks! And that's saying somthn coming from me. I wish I could have gave negative stars! I've nvr been more disappointed goin to a gun show in my life! However, the fair grounds themselve was huge and kinda hard to navigate. They should have put out signs showing where to go! I mean somthn tht small and no signs had people showing up to gymnastic practice! I will nvr go to another in this...
