I wish I could give FedEx negative stars. I've had one of the worst shipping experiences that I've ever had. It's to the point that I no longer want to do business with anyone that uses them for shipping.
I had a very expensive item shipped to me and the shipping alone cost me over $200 and required a signature. First off, it was 2 days late and when it finally arrived, the driver just dropped off a "we missed you tag". I live in a large apartment complex that has a mailroom. There is a leasing office that the delivery drivers have to pass by to get to the mailroom. The people in this office are authorized to sign for our packages and 3 office workers were present when delivery was attempted. Second strike was contacting customer service. They swore up and down that the delivery driver would contact me so that I could sign. That did not happen. The driver just dropped off a tag... AGAIN and didn't seek a signature. I call customer service again and they tell me that they will redeliver the same day and they will text me when the delivery is an hour away. I confirm with the customer service rep that they will text me BEFORE it arrives and not after. The customer service agent promises me that they will. I'll have to wait an hour in the mailroom, but at this point, I just want my package. I get another text AFTER THEY ATTEMPTED DELIVERY! Seriously?! I call customer service a third time.
This is getting ridiculous. I give them precise instructions on how to get directly to my door. The rep tells me that they will bring it to my door so I may sign and receive it in person since I can't trust them to contact me when they get here. The delivery driver doesn't follow instructions and leaves another "we missed you" note in the lobby. I call customer service a fourth time. They advise me to pick up the package, but seeing as the package is longer than my car, I may need to rent a vehicle just so I can get my package! I've had to rent equipment to assemble the contents of the package and I've lost so much money and 3 days waiting for this package!!
I have concerns that they will send it back to California and then I'll be out another $200+ to get it reshipped and I'll probably get jerked around again and end up just having to...

Fed ex has been awful over the past few months, whether its taking 6 days to deliver a 2nd day air package or the driver being too lazy to deliver the package and scanning it "incorrect address" when the address is 100% correct. Their non-US based customer service is a joke also. When I called about the 2nd day air that took 6 days I got every excuse from "the severe weather in Texas" to "high winds cancelled the flight so we had to switch to ground service". When I called about the "incorrect address" nonsense I made sure I checked my original order with the shipper and saw that the address was correct. The representative told me that it was scanned "incorrect address" at which point I informed him that I already double checked and Im 100% sure it is correct. He looked up the package and acknowleged that it is addressed correctly. He then came with some lie that they have extremely high volume, to which I countered "how could it be listed as 'on truck out for delivery' and then at 3:10 it gets scanned 'incorrect address'? He did not have a response. I requested it be held at a fed ex store so I could pick it up the next day, I was informed that those requests take 24-48 hours to process, so they could not guarantee that the package would be at the hold facility the next day. I asked if they could take it off the truck and I would come to the hub and pick it up. I know a real shipping company (UPS) has this option. I was told this is only a warehouse and they do not have customer pick up. I was further infuriated when I looked at the photos of the Seekonk building and saw, clear as day, a door that says 'customer pick up and drop off' with the hours clearly marked. Overall, I think its clear I despise Fedex for how Mickey Mouse they are and if any merchant I deal with offers ANY other shipping options I will go with them regardless of cost.    Read moreMADE MY 91 YEAR OLD MOTHER SLEEP ON THE FLOOR!!!! I specifically ordered a mattress with a Saturday delivery date. I took the day off of work to drive two hours to meet my elderly mother at the rest home to receive this package. FedEx gave me a delivery window of 10:30-1:50. I called to confirm the delivery. They said it would arrive today for sure. I begin my commute. As I'm driving, I get another text that says that I cancelled the delivery. I DID NOT CANCEL THE DELIVERY!!!! I called fedex customer service and get yet another cust service rep that bately speaks english. They stated that they don't know why I received that message, because the package was arriving today!
I then called the rest home and told them that maintenance could throw my mothers old mattress away. I continued to drive and then I received another text from Fedex.... Delivery will arrive by the end of the day. Then another text...... Delivery held due to request. I called fedex again. They said that I was NOT getting my package today, Fedex closed at 2:00!!!
So now my 80 pound 91 year old mother has to SLEEP ON THE FLOOR, because her old mattress was thrown away and I can't go buy a different one, as it won't fit in my car.
