If I could give a half of ONLY one star , believe me I would. So I spent almost an hour at this location at around 830 at night. I work two jobs , some days I have to work both the same day. Whatever, but I get done pretty late and I'm tired. There were three girls working and a guy. I spent time talking to ALL OF THEM, asked politely if they had certain things I could buy for a Halloween costume. Not much luck btw. Anyway, I spent $$ on what I did find, kept talking to the girls, I was tired but trying to be polite. The girl I talked to who was nonstop talking name stRted with a T, brown hair, little heavier set but not huge at all. Anyway I left the store, went to my car- and texted a few friends and my sister who I was wAiting on to get out of a movie. Next thing I know.... about three ambulances and several cop cars pull up banging on my window. Apparently they said that the girls inside called them on me, I looked at the time - it was about almost 10pm. They were not closed. So obviously apparently I had fallen asleep for about 20-25 minutes ONLY, and these girls called the police on me/ after we had been talking and they knew I was tired etc. the cops and ambulance guys were not happy, I was not doing anything wrong at all. They left pretty quickly but I could obv see the catty girls doing nothing in the store but looking at me. The officer even said that they said they tried to wake me up which is a LIE- and that I'd been there for a really long time.
All it was IM SURE, was that those crazy girls were obv bored .... saw me outside and wanted to stir up some drama. Blows my mind. They really could have come out and asked if I was ok- but they did not. When I talked to the one guy there he apologized atleast and said he had nothing to do with calling them or anything .
Anyway- also btw- I took a pair of MiSsMe jeans up there - I paid about $150 for them but got pregnant so they never got worn. They only wanted to give me $12. Just wow. They lost a customer - and all my friends and family as customers at that location. And by the way ladies- I also have lupus that mKes me very tired of course anyway. I recommend another location. As far as clothing - they had nothing worth...
Read moreTheir selection of tops are great. I always seem to find at least one thing when I go in. I do wish they would have a larger selection of dresses (hint: go sell your dresses here). The last time I came in there was only one rack dedicated to dresses. I haven't shopped for jeans in a while here, but they do have a pretty big selection. I do wish there were more faux leather shorts in other sizes (hint for people with faux leather shorts to go sell them at Plato's). I'd also like a bigger selection of leather jackets--faux or real (hint hint). I would have also liked better lighting in the dressing rooms. The lighting is a bit harsh and doesn't bode well for sales.
As for selling, they are picky, but that is understandable. This isn't any ol' thrift store. You are not donating items. You are selling them. Therefore the clothes and accessories have to be of some value. I really don't suggest standing there and watching them go through your clothes. I never watch, so I don't know nor do I care if they are judging my clothes. If they want to buy them, great. I am not going to get hurt if they don't like my clothes because the reason I am getting rid of them is that I don't like...
Read moreI took in gently used purses and dress shoes to sell to Plato’s Closet, but I didn’t actually shop. I did look around a bit, though, and they have quite a lot on offer. This was my first time going to this store, and I didn’t realize before going that they market primarily to teens and young adults. They only took a few of the purses I had and none of the shoes, and I was disappointed not to have sold more of my stuff. I asked the clerk if there was any problem with the shoes or if they don’t sell larger sizes (I apparently now wear a women’s size 13-1/2 or 14, and I was purging the size 13s that are now too tight), and they said there wasn’t any problem; they just seemed to be for a more mature woman, and that is definitely accurate. I’d only been to a Plato’s Closet one other time in a different city. I was with my sister, and she took in purses, wallets and shoes. They bought everything she had, and she made nearly $200! I was absolutely amazed, and maybe that’s why I clearly didn’t notice their market is teens and young adults! ...
