I took the 3 day trial membership to evaluate this gym. I have belonged to gyms, on and off, since 1984. I knew that this was a no-frills gym from their website. During the 3 days, I used the weights, treadmills, stationary bikes, lockers, restrooms, and showers. I talked to the staff and asked them to show me the equipment. At the end of the trial, I decided to sign up for the basic membership at $18/month. I got the first month for $9 because I set up a draft from my checking account. I figure I will give it three months and cancel if I'm not using it enough. I did not pay the additional fee for classes or tanning. I have not seen anything at PurePower that I didn't like. The staff are friendly. The music is good. The facilities are clean. It's not far from my house. They gave me an app to use my phone to open the door. The proximity to Wal-Mart and other nearby stores makes it convenient to use it 24/7. I highly recommend PurePower if you want a basic gym and don't want to pay for services...
