My wife and I live over an hour outside of Columbus and with us both having the day off together we decided to make the hour and a half trip along with our two year old. I would make that drive time and time again for the quality of food and the exceptional service and hospitality we experienced today. We walked in through the outside seating area and checked the inside out. My only suggestion would be for a few more standard tables for families or those with children inside . There may have been more than I realized as it was lunch time and busy enough for the inside tables to be mostly occupied. Sitting outside was no issue for us and we enjoyed our lunch outside. We held a conversation with what I assume was a regular who gave us some recommendations on the menu. He was super nice to our two year old and I think overall the vibes and atmosphere is very friendly. We were waited on by Brooke who was on top of everything from the second we sat down. We started with two appetizers. The OG Pretzel and fried pickles. When people say “get the pretzel” it’s for a reason. The OG Pretzel is amazing, it’s buttery, salty it’s delicious!! I apologize for not having a photo of the pretzel on the fancy rack and tray they bring out as my two year old and wife tore into it before I could snag a photo. I was surprised by the quantity of draft beer options. I stuck with my go to Michelob Ultra which was served ice cold and crisp. The fried pickles were very good as well and the sauce which seemed like a spicey ranch was quite tasty. Now down to the wings. Not only are the wings reasonably priced but in comparison to the majority of restaurants these wings had some meat!! Not a single flat or drum lacked in size and they were worth every penny. My wife decided to go with boneless wings (aka chicken nuggets) and I went with traditional with the standard breading they apply to their wings. one order of Garlic Menace and an order of OG Buffalo. I also ordered a small order of smoked wings as well since it was Monday which were BBQ. Flavor flavor flavor!!! The Garlic Menace have to be the most flavorful wing sauce I’ve ever had. Didn’t skimp on the sauce they were extra wet just as I like my wings and the minced garlic provided so much flavor to the wings. The OG Buffalo were also very good with the right amount of heat but not too overwhelming. The smoked wings were also very good. They were not my personal favorite but would blow the competition out of the water. My wife even sampled both of my wings and wish she would have got traditional wings despite the fact she loved her boneless order. When I first sat down and talked with Brooke I had asked her if she was aware of the Facebook group (chicken wing connoisseurs or Columbus) and she knew all about it. I told her we had traveled a fair distance and she thanked us for making the trip. At the end of the meal when the bill came we were greeted by the owner Spencer who took the time out of his day from the back in the kitchen to thank us for coming and asked us how our experience was. I gave him my high praises and told him the CWCoC page had brought us all the way from our small town to Columbus. He was very down to earth and thanked us for coming in. I don’t think you’ll find that type of owner in most establishments. I’d just like to end this by saying I believe sometimes people want to knock the popular thing because it’s a way to be different. It’s a way to not follow the popularity of something. If you like wings. This is a must stop. Excited to travel another hour and half for some quality wings very soon!!

Let me break it down: Seating and Wait Time: We were promptly seated, but the restaurant only had around 6 low-top tables. The lack of wait time for a table was a plus. Kids Menu: They did have a kids menu, which was a relief. You can check it out in the picture. However, the service for our kids’ lemonade was a bit forgetful. Service: Our waitress was friendly, and I hesitate to blame her for any shortcomings. Unfortunately, it took 10 minutes just to get our alcoholic drinks, and the utensils were missing when our food arrived. Perhaps the understaffing was the root cause. Food Quality: The boneless wings were a highlight—they still tasted great despite the other issues. We also tried the buffalo chicken salad, which was decent. My kid’s mini corn dogs were cold, but at least she didn’t have to wait for them to cool down! Drink Pricing: Oddly, the drink prices weren’t listed on the menu. We were left guessing. Ambiance and Maintenance: The restaurant could use some TLC. Fresh paint on the walls and proper locks for restroom doors would make a difference. On a positive note, our drinks were served in pint glasses, which we appreciated. Future Visit: Despite the hiccups, we might return when it’s warmer to try the patio. Hopefully, the service will improve during the summer months. In summary, Shaker Public House has potential, but a few adjustments are needed for a better...
Read moreMy husband loves this places food, me I'm kind of on the it's cool side. The parmesan wings is what I ordered and it was just OK. The chicken was crispy but I didn't really like the garlic parmesan flavor. The grippo wings are a must. They use a grippo dry rub which I like very much. The mozzarella sticks were hot and delicious as well. When went there was a band on the patio playing a good mixture of songs. The only thing was there was music from the jukebox playing inside which was clashing with the band outside which was loud because there were people including the servers running in and out. The band was playing by that particular door everyone was using so at one time you get loud music from outside and inside together at once but that was the only issue. If you don't mind a mixture of loud noise like us (we have a zoo of 5 kids and animals) then you'll be fine. Our server was cool and very down to earth and even the owner brought our food and checked on us constantly. I gave 4 stars because my wings and the fries which were the reaper fries with parmesan were just OK it had nothing to do with the service at all, service was great. I also ordered a banana roll which is served cold. It's kind of like a pumpkin roll but with banana custard which was delicious. Would I go back? Yes, I'd just get a different flavor of wings which they have alot of. I'd definitely say try it yourself to see if you like what they...
