I would not buy a mattress from them again. I have not had a good experience dealing with them since I purchased my mattress. From the very first day of buying it as I was leaving, they said once you leave the store with it, we will NOT take it back! They were very adamant about it as I was paying for it. I didn't think it was going to be a problem because i laid on several mattresses in the store, and the one I picked felt the best for me. They told me it came in other options such as plush and firm. I said the one on the floor is what I like. When I got it home and set up, it was way firmer than what I tried in the store. I read the literature they sent home with me, and it said give yourself time to adjust to your mattress, and if it's too firm, go purchase a pillow top mattress pad. I bought a pillow top mattress to begin with! I shouldn't have to spend more money buying a pillow top pad to put on a pillow mattress. I spent more money there than other places because I wanted a 2-sided mattress, so it would last longer.
I got a survey a week later about my experience. I put in the comments that I feel I was not given the proper mattress. It's too firm, but I went out and bought a pillow top pad. Another 90 dollars on top of my 1500 dollars I've already spent.
They call me at 30 days to ask how I like my mattress. I tell them I don't, and they ask why. They obviously didn't read my survey from 3 weeks prior. I'm told a technician will have to come and take a look at it. Of course, I'm puzzled by that. He arrives a week and a half later. I knew it was going to be a waste of my time, but maybe I'll be surprised. Nope, it went just as I thought it would go. They were looking to see if I had bent the springs bringing it in. No bent springs! The dog and pony show continues about everything that I have done wrong. Stating that the bed is a quarter of an inch lower in the one corner. That's not going to affect how firm the mattress is! It's not what I laid on in the store. I'm told I should have spent more time choosing my mattress. It's a comfort issue on my end. I chose wrong. At the end of this was well luckily you have our comfort policy. You can pick something else at a discounted rate in the first year. I've already spent too much for something that wasn't right to begin with and does not feel the same as what's in the store. Why would I go back and give you more money for something else. I am extremely disappointed with them. And I'll be damned if I will give them more money. To many red flags I overlooked. They're right it is my fault. When the salespeople were adamant about not taking it back, and they said in the literature that if your mattress is too firm, go by a pad to put on top. All signs of a bad experience...

Do yourself a favor and take your time, research carefully and most importantly - KNOW THE EXCHANGE POLICY. This company will not let you exchange a mattress without paying hundreds of dollars more. Period. BUY ELSEWHERE. There are numerous companies with 30, 60, and 100 day guarantees that allow you to exchange it if it isn't the right one for you, at little or no cost. When you spend $1000 on the surface you'll spend so much of your time on, and you're trying to make a decision in a half hour, fully clothed, out in public, there's a significant chance you won't know you chose the wrong product until you've slept on it a while. This makes the exchange policy critical, and you can choose from several companies that allow for this.
Original Mattress Factory isn't one of them.
We bought what we thought was a good product suited to our needs, but after less than two months the mattress was slumping rapidly and me and my wife began experiencing a lot of back discomfort as a result. Bottom line it's the wrong one for us and also seems to be of mediocre durability. Side note, we are of average size and build, maybe leaning toward the slimmer side. Quality issues aside, if we wanted to exchange the mattress we would be paying several hundred dollars per their policy. The company response was basically "hey you were warned". They said they told us about the exchange policy, that it was printed on our invoice, and that there was a sign in the store somewhere. Fine. That doesn't make it a good policy, and you have a choice to go elsewhere as a result. I made the wrong choice, but hopefully I can prevent others from doing the same.
Choose wisely - Choose a company that will treat you right by helping you get a product you enjoy, one that will leave you with a good feeling about doing business with them so you tell your friends and come back to them the next time. Read moreI love the sales people here. they are friendly, kind and knowledgeable about their products. The are not pushy or trying to make the sale. All products are made in the local factory and to meet our needs. They are willing to work with you as the customer and I felt like my interests were first. The only compliant which I had was with the delivery people. They were not willing to work with me on the delivery time. We were told that there would be a window of delivery time at time of purchase. i agree with that. The called the day before delivery and said that delivery would be between 10am and 12 Noon. I asked if it could be closer to noon rather than 10am as I has someone coming to take away the old set to donate to a family in need. The delivery people would not hear of it. It had to be on their terms. I thought that they might at least listen to me, but no. So, they called the morning of delivery and said they would be there around 10am and I said ok then. They were running late and it was getting close to 10:30. Finally, they called and said that they couldn't get through the road because it was closed for repair. I said that they would have to go around. So, they got here closer to 10:45 and by then the other mattress set was gone. For me, that was fortuitous. The delivery people said that they should have called and asked about directions. If they had done so, that would have saved them time, but it saved me because I did not have 2 crews here at the same time. I hope that they learned a lesson.
