Shawano Speedway — Local services in Shawano

This was absolutely one of the worst experiences at a race track ever. It's very obvious that the drivers of the big tire cars didn't want to race for a cure for child cancer. As they refused to help pack the track. Wasting 3.5 hours of time Saying we're going to race. Then without a heat race they cancelled the event. We explained that we wanted our money back as we don't live Close and they refused. After fighting with them they gave us our money back. This was absolutely ridiculous. We will never be come back to this track again. Waited 2 weeks for this. We could've driven home and gone to the races here instead of wasting time and money here. Very displeased with them. Took our first trip to a dirt track, normally we are a hard surface racing family. The dirt drivers did not disappoint and put on quite a show. I was amazed how fast the late model could wheel a 1/2 mile, only a few seconds behind the concrete late models. The food and concessions are great and the crowd was great as well. The salute to the Veterans was great. The small town, home feeling of this track and atmosphere is obvious. What other track gives a wood plaque to every Veteran in attendance? None of them. I was pretty disappointed, we drove 1.5 hours only to get there and find out racing was canceled. It didn't show canceled on the websight when we left. We get there and the place was a ghost town, this would've been my first time attending this track. The forecast didn't call for rain yet they had a quick short rainfall, not enough to cancel the race over especially since its an outdoor track that they water down anyways. I looked forward to enjoying this race with a friend for months and was very disapointed. I doubt i will bother to...
