Friendly and helpful staff who manage to be empathetic without being condescending. I had no idea what to expect, but the enrollment process was very simple and painless, just bring your ID, proof of residence, and proof of income. The variety was a nice surprise. The abundance was almost overwhelming. Some of the donations we're obviously items that didn't sell well, but for someone who uses mainly natural foods, getting a huge bottle of Bragg's Liquid Aminos (a healthier soy sauce substitute that contains protein) was a wonderful surprise find! We left with staples, but also things like frozen lobster ravioli, blueberry muffins, and rennet for making cheese. I also took the nutrition classes which were fun and informative, and we always left with recipes, a little kitchen item like a meat thermometer or measuring cups, a recipe and the items to make it, and an item of produce like a fresh pineapple. Taking all four nutrition classes also earns you an extra shopping day. We are fortunate now to not need the Community Market's services, but when we moved here and we're suddenly in a tight spot, they were a life saver. But we are normally opened to hand out groceries every Monday 12:30pm-5-:30pm, Wednesday 10am-3pm, Friday 10am-3pm and every third Saturday 10am-12pm.. We typically are closed on Holidays. Just come to location get a number and when your number is called you will be helped.. We try very hard to help as many people as we can.. We try very hard to be as friendly and helpful as possible and give you the assistance that you need.. Just be patient with us because there are many in need. And we love each and everyone that comes in for help..
