Sheridan IGA — Local services in Sheridan

Customer service is fine, they’re always nice to me and pretty quick. The selection here is decent. If you need almost anything and can’t make it to Mac, you can find it here. However it’s expensive. Everything is retail price or marked up. No discounts or clearance unless it’s something that hasn’t sold and is close to expiring. They also sell expired food WITHOUT discounting!! So check dates!! They do not cycle out or refresh their stock very often that’s for sure. This includes dairy and produce. It’s not always that way, but I’ve lived here a few months and I’ve seen fresh food and not so fresh food here…. The deli food here has okay prices but the food is very low quality. I had a cheap sandwich here a few months ago, just roastbeef on a hoagie roll. Looked okay but as soon as I bit into it I could smell and taste a weird fume like from that of a new shoe. I spit it out and lost my appetite. My boyfriend likes the pizzas and burgers, I think they’re okay. The place also needs to be better taken care of. Outside parking lot has a lot of debris. And inside there’s water leaking from the ceiling near the meat section. I just know there’s gotta be mold up there. This is not just about looks. Sheridan is a small town. The local select market provides several services you may or may not necessarily expect at a small store its size to do. You can get hunting and fishing licenses, use Western Union, and cash payroll checks. Some of the deli food is alright, and the chicken strip meals are a decent deal for the money. You have to be careful because it seems that some of the items may or may not be recycled deli food items repackaged and combined with other things. Leftover steaks cut up and served with potatoes or something else. Leftover chicken strips are the next days chicken sandwiches. I won't say that it's not thrifty and a good way to reduce food waste though, so take that information as you will

Unfortunately it also runs into the same problems you run into at any small town market: above average prices on grocery items. Some items are twice what you might pay in McMinnville, 15 miles away.

Service can be spotty. Nannette, Brad, Trudy, and one or two others are good people, but a lot of the other people are either "eh" or rude. I'm not saying I expect more, but again, it's something I consider.

This is literally the worst store ever. The management used to be ok, but ever since it changed, the store went downhill so quickly. The "frozen" food is never frozen, I've actually gotten moldy food from the freezer section, also, the new owners are racist.Terrible customer service, way overpriced, rotting and moldy food, and just overall really yucky vibes. There are dust bunnies in literally every corner of the store. Yuk. Will not be coming back after witnessing the mistreatment of a customer today(he got kicked out while buying food because the owner disliked him, literally no other reason). Don't waste your money on selfish, money starved nasty owners. They don't pay their employees enough. They literally own at least 3 stores, and take more from all of them then they should.
