Veterans Village Thrift Store — Local services in Show Low

I took the time to read through the reviews of this small business. I want to share my experiences since some of the comments are rather derogatory.

I have a summer home in the area that I have had for years and years. My wife is a big THRIFTER, and enjoys the hunt for a particular treasure. We have visited Veterans Village Thrift Store over the last few summers and we've watched this little store grow by leaps and bounds. The store is clean, organized, well-lit and hosts a myriad of collectables/treasures with the prices clearly marked. Recently, I noticed that the store is under new management. I had the opportunity to chat with the new manager and a few of the Veterans who live on the adjacent property owned by the thrift store. I can only praise the efforts of the management and the Veterans who seek out purpose in life utilizing the profits from this store and who depend on the generosity of the surrounding community. In my experience, the people behind the scenes of this organization have been nothing but helpful, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to do business with. Every once in a while, my wife manages to strike gold in her thrifting efforts and more often than not with the help of the new manager.

If you're looking for a bargain, and desire top customer service, this is the place for you. If you're lucky enough, you might meet a Veteran who has an extraordinary tale to tell and how through the efforts of this store, and WALKING DOWN RANCH next door, were able to reclaim their life.

I tried to buy a little electric timer it had a $3 sticker on it when I was going to pay for it I noticed there was a $5 sticker on it and I told them that I would give him three it wasn't worth five and they acted like I was trying to steal it or changing the tag. Very clean, tidy and well organized. Lots of items in great shape. We found 2 pairs of sneakers that were in almost brand new condition. The items sold here are in excellent shape, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable and the shop is a delight to go into. Something for everyone and they help support Veterans.
