When all the cards are down, all hope lost, all self-dignity robbed barren and not a cent left to pay for one square foot of rent you, the Poseidon of the White Mountain Pizza game, emerge from the deep-fried depths of the hot sauce ocean atop a five dollar hydra of drumsticks and batter to rescue those who cannot rescue themselves. Unfortunately when I took recent bro date here to try and sew back up the dilapidated, torn apart, stomped on heart of a fellow bro we left very sad. If you remember the scene in Top Gun, where Goose tragically dies, you'll get the point. We had been waiting for this Thursday Night $9.99 all you can eat buffet since we missed it on Tuesday. So in preparation for this event we had limited our oral intake to Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey and Tostitos Salsa Chips. We arrived about 30 minutes of opening into this food fest. The folks at the front were very nice greeted us promptly. We paid for our feast and went to grab plates. My mate stopped mid plate grab and exclaimed, "the pizza, it is almost out!" Hesitantly we grabbed what few pieces remained and went onto the hot wing bar. There were 2 of each wings left. Fortunately the salad bar was fully stocked, but really who comes for salad out of a bag? The place was busy but there were still tables open. As we sat there eagerly eating the two tasty pieces of pizza, we watched drones of people that were coming and going, this obviously is the place to be on Thursday nights. We sat in anticipation of more wings and pizza. After a while we asked if there was anything else cooking and the staff said it will be awhile as they had a large phone order. We sat back down and ate some bag salad. More people kept coming and they were encountering the same problems we had been experiencing for nearly 20 minutes. Finally a pizza was placed in the buffet, like Turkey vultures all the chitlins flocked to it like Hipsters to Caitlin Jenner. So we were still waiting for some wings, nothing. One worker was scooping pudding into foam cups and I swear he stared into my soul. Finally 6 wings popped out, but honestly that isn't even an appetizer for two grown Bros. In despair we grabbed another round of pizza and left. This will not be the last time I will visit this place but I sure have higher expectations next time. As we sit here eating the rest of our Ben & Jerry's, we wonder why cannot a buffet have adequate buffet items ready for a 5pm buffet, and why did Goose have to go...
Read moreI do not like reviewing any place just based on one visit, even if the visit is a good experience. I prefer to review a place based on consistency. So, with all that said, here is my honest review: This is the best place to get Wings, Calzones, Pizza, and Sub Sandwiches on the Mountain. My wife, my father and I have eaten here more than just a few times, and without a doubt, this is the place to get the best Garlic Parmesan Wings, Hot Buffalo Wings, Pepperoni Pizza, Calzones. and Sub Sandwiches, that I have EVER had. The Pizza is fresh, cheesey, and hot, with the perfect amount of toppings, the crust is perfectly done crispy and chewy. We have also tried their Cauliflower Crust Pizza which is gluten free. Honestly, we could not tell the crust was gluten free. We were also on the Ketogenic diet at the time, and it did NOT kick us out of ketosis. The wings are amazing, no joke the best I have ever had, (They don't kick us out of Keto either) We have had them 5 times in the 6 times we have eaten here. I'm not going to describe them. Just try them. Now, the calzones. I love calzones. I have had calzones from a lot of restaurants. It's a safe bet to say hundreds. The Calzones at R&R Pizza Express are the absolute best I have ever had. Perfect crust. Perfect amount of fillings and fixins. Perfect temperature. Perfect flavor. Absolute perfection, and this place is in little ole Pinetop Arizona?!?? YES!!!!
If you eat food. If you like pizza, chicken wings, sub sandwiches, and yes, CALZONES!!! Eat here. Don't diet. Don't try some other place that is just down the road. Drive here from Tucson or Phoenix if you have to but, eat here. You will be glad you did.
P.S. I know I left the Sub Sandwiches out in my review. My 91 year old father orders them, so I really don't know how they taste. But I think he has been very impressed so far, because the sandwiches are all he will order, (Though he will eat some of my wings.) and now he doesn't want to go anywhere else for a sandwich. That is a pretty good...
Read moreMy friend and I are elderly and handicapped 🛏 and he is having trouble breathing up in the high altitude in Pinetop/Lakeside Az as he is handicapped and only 1 lung is functional and also having trouble with truck breaks yesterday. We decided to have food delivered as we stayed in cabin all day because of him breathing..
MY friend and I ordered over the phone at R & R Pizza Express. We ordered a large pizza, 2 orders of wings and knots bread. We ordered to have it delivered to the cabins where we were staying at 4:41 P.M. The young girl said 45 minutes to delivery.
My phone rang at 5:10 P.M. 15 minutes prior to our food being delivered. The same girl called saying she is sorry, but she did not know they have a huge order that has to be delivered to Show Low., Az
I asked her why she could not deliver our order as the person had to pass us directly off White Mountains Rd.
Her reply was that their order was huge ...... What this was also telling us that they never even started to make our order, if it was to be delivered in 15 minutes.... She informed us they would not be able to deliver our food for 1 to 1/2 hours more....... What the heck,.......
We canceled our order, only to not find another place to order food for dinner to have it delivered unless we went through DOORDASH....
I played with the program for an hour trying to figure on how to use it, after an hour, I gave up....
2 elderly people had no lunch and went to bed hungry......
I have to say that one of the owners had called us to make sure that our complaint was resolved. We felt a lot better after talking to him. We all were able to voice our concerns and he apologized and appreciate if next time we are in town that he would make sure we were taking care...
