On 03/25/19 I decided to check out in the self check out machine which is what I do everytime I go to Target. When we got there somebody had placed a pair of heels in a box that had a clearance sign. When I scanned the shoes they rang to a different price. I pushed the delete item button and the machine said that a store associate was going to be there shortly. However, the store associate Diana was too busy talking to the clerk on I believe was register 6. I would stare at her but she didn't come over until I told her I the machine was not allowing me to continue. She came over looking frustated and annoyed. When I tried to submit a payment on the machine my payment didn't go thru and once again unfortunately I had to ask for her help. It was the second time she was not aware that the machine was showing that the store associate was going to help.Again with her rude attitude she told me its not accepting your payment and walked away without offering to help. I tried my card again and entered the pin and the machine once again repeated the same message. For a third time in a row Diana was rude and again was not aware that the machine was not allowing me to pay. I was already upset at the fact that she was not showing any customer service skills.I decided to make a cash payment and got my recepit. When my mom tried to pay for her items the machine pulled up the screen once more Diana was nowhere to be found. We then decided to go to I believe was register #6.. We had him ring up my moms items and rudely he asked "what about those items" (the diaper box and wipes box) that I had just paid for in the self-check out. I did respond very upset that I had just paid for those items. As my mom, my two children and I were getting ready to leave the aisle infront of the other customers she said in a very rude and loud tone "Did he ring those items?" I told her "Yes do you want to see a receipt" and instead of behaving how a "manager should behave" she tried to turn aggresive towards me. She yelled at me " as a matter of fact I do want to see a receipt now" being. I got my reciept and put it in her hand and told you are accusing us of stealing. She kept trying to intimidate me by sticking her chest out and kept yelling at my face and like she was ready to punch me.I was trying to walk away when she said I have a right to ask for a receipt to which I responded I have a right to be mad if you are being disrespectful and trying to treat me like a thieve. The I told her where is the manager and in a taunting voice she said I am the manager to which I responded yeah but you still have corporate and other managers above you. I told her get the manager now or how about if you give me a refund because I used my money here. She said if you want the managee there is customer service and you can walk there yourself and get him if you like. When I asked her her name she said its Melinda she didn't even have a name tag on her displaying her name. When I started walking towards customer service the building manager came out and started talking to my family and me.He was very respectful and I believe he came out because her heard the screaming that was going on. I asked the building manager for corporate's number and he gave it to me. He also said he was sorry for what happened and that Melinda a the manager she is not have behaved the way she did. I have been a customer of target for many year and this experience cannot be described other than horrible. This has been the first time my family and I have been so disrespect not once, but three times. It was extremely embarrassing how other customers were looking at us like us as customers were doing something wrong. After this terrible experience I will take my business to Walmart or elsewhere. I understand that employees do have a right to ask for a receipt but in a polite manner. I didn't know that asking for receipts upon exiting target, trying to act like a security guard and starting altercations towards your customes was also part of your...
Read moreI visited this Target on July 30, 1 p.m. to pickup an order of canning jars. The customer service brought me the jars and I told him they were the wrong size. He curtly showed me his handheld device and curtly said, “That’s the order” and returned to his register to help the next customer in line. I was confused whey he didn’t offer to do a refund and, while still at the Customer Service area, asked him to return the items. He said I needed to wait in line again unless those in the queue agreed to let me go to the front of the line. The lady at the front of the line smiled and said yes. The Target representative stated, “They all have to agree” and motioned to about some eight people, and about a 20-30 minute additional wait time. Some customers smirked with glee, enjoying the drama. I then left Customer Service and found the nearest employee and asked to speak to the manager … she walked me back to Customer Service, where it turned out that the manager was the second associate, and had observed the entire situation. Given that the manager condoned her employee’s behavior it was pointless to rejoin the line to return the items and talk to her about the policy. I decided to leave for another Target … being soft spoken and polite, I was at a disadvantage. But not before the manger calls out to me, not to take the Customer Service cart out of the store. The manger, it seemed, was very much aware of the entire situation … and she delivered one last parting public humiliation. Outside I glanced at the large Target symbol and thought about Walmart… I avoid Walmart as I’ve felt devalued there, but at least humiliation is not something I’ve experienced at Walmart. Within the next 30 minutes (that I would have been in the line waiting for the manager in Signal Hill) I went to Target in north Long Beach … no Customer Service lines and a most kind and sweet Customer Service representative who made the simple return in 2-3 minutes. In 30 minutes I went from being humiliated, to being treated with respect and kindness. I thanked the customer service representative, she wouldn’t know how her kindness redeemed my...
Read moreLet me preface my review by saying that I love this target location and spend an ample amount of time here. I stop in on average, once a week and have been doing so for more than a year. Target is my happy place. I have cultivated a decent relationship with a few of the members that work here and am usually satisfied with the service. Today I stopped in to exchange diapers for my little one. I stockpiled before they were born and spent roughly $500 on diapers however they outgrew them so fast that I couldn’t use most of them. While trying to exchange some of the diapers, a woman named Shaunda (name that was provided, not sure if accurate) was at the member service counter. She made the process very difficult and told me I was unable to exchange or return my items. She offered me no alternatives and basically told me that I needed to cart the 5 boxes of diapers back to my car because there was nothing that could be done. All while I was handling a very fussy baby. I asked for a manager and although she did call for one, they were not available. She then tells me that she needs to take her lunch and someone would help once they could. I waited at the counter for quite some time and felt that she should have verified that someone was on the way before leaving me there. This whole experience left me quite disappointed. I love shopping here but felt so embarrassed and disregarded when my request was quite simple. Eventually, another employee walked up and asked if I needed help with anything. He was kind and was able to resolve my problem with no issues which led me to believe that Shaunda just didn’t care to help me. I wish I had gotten his name but my focus wasn’t there...
