I got stomach cramps and pain in my lower abdomen last Monday went to the ER at Simi Valley adventist hospital. I just had an enlarged prostate reduction done called TURP a week prior, so I thought it might’ve been something related like a UTI. The hospital did all kinds of lab and CT scan, etc. Turns out I was diagnosed with diverticulitis severe. They mean that night I was there for six days in a room on heavy duty antibiotics intravenously. Staff the nurses, the assistance were beyond the kindest, most caring, thoughtful people I’ve dealt with. I’ve been to this hospital before it was always treated the same way, so I knew it was the hands. I was in great spirit no matter what, even though I’m paying jokes, I felt like a person a family member not just a patient, my doctor name was Dr. Luckey. Knew I was in God’s place and well taken care of. I am a true believer a Christian. The first nurse to take care of me in my room was named Bless. That proves me my faith in the Lord again was real, and I was taken care of, and had not any need to worry. From now on the nurses, the assistance keep checking up on me throughout the week I was not allowed to eat anything for five days a couple sips of water I ironically I just started doing a three day fast for the Lord and prayers worked out perfectly. Throughout my time there were many many nurses that took care of me. The one nurse Who really stood out the most was Erin. She changed my pills. My sheets papered me made me feel loved, and not afraid she even offered to help me bathe in the shower, but I declined to do it myself carefully the other nurse, who stood out was Christy. She Kept checking up on me regularly , ansking of I needed anything like if I had water to sip. Checking my IVs were good. I was comfortable in the uncomfortable bed. Answered any questions I had. She made me feel special as well as Mary, Anna, Patti, Mark, Cris, Lindsay, Belen, Sarah & Marylou. There were others I forgot there names but all of them exceeded my expectations of hospital nurses because every one of them loved their job beyond a job and their passion of caring for others showed by their unselfish actions. Even Dr. Amadpour came by twice to see and check on me. Since he did my original Colonoscopy earlier in the year. Dr. Luckey came by every every day to give me updates on my lab work findings and the second CT scan after five days. I’m finally get to go home Saturday night I finally got fed some liquid foods I went home, feeling so loved taken care of beyond the norm. Explain to me how to take care of myself at home when to do follow-ups with Dude case of emergency if it flared up again, so I’m at home now resting and heavy duty antibiotics for the next 10 days, I Thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for loving me protecting me giving me favor and showing that my prayers are answered to any fear or insecurities, or illness Satan tries to throw at me.
Thank you also to Dan and Jenny hopefully I got her name right down in the CT department. They were amazing and kind and a great comedy act. Especially what she had to do to me for my CT scan which is really disgusting. So thank you to the nurses staff, the assistance the doctors at Simi Valley Adventist Hospital. What team what love should be an example of how hospitals should treat Patients. Truly, first responders they are they are the superheroes that never get enough credit or accolades for what they do. God bless them. Thank...
Read moreStarting from the receptionist, I never got a wristband in the beginning. Until I was put in a treatment room and the nurse came to give me some pain medication and so I had to wait for her to go print one out. Bring it back to me, scan it and then give me my medication’s when I was in excruciating pain because I just had gotten into a bike accident And my whole shoulder area is so stretched out that it’s fairly hanging on by a hair and it even hurts to breathe. Let along open my mouth to take pills since when my accident happened. I hit my side of the face and head, which makes it difficult for me to choose swallow or open my mouth wide. Then the pain medication they give me wasn’t very good and they gave it to me in pill form, which took forever to kick in and when it did barely did anything and then I have to wait longer so they can give me IV medication’s and then finally that kicked in Which I don’t understand why they didn’t do that from the beginning since I was in excruciating pain and they knew that. Then they give me a doctors note for my work saying that I can go back tomorrow and it’s just happened Thursday night and with no restrictions. Mind you I cannot do anything on my own. Because I cannot move because of the pain and my shoulder feels like it’s gonna fall off if I don’t keep it close and tight to me and I had told them I’m a vet tech main treatment technician which means I do a lot of lifting a lot of doing with my hands my arms And they’re saying it’s OK for me to go back to work tomorrow with no restrictions after they had just verbally told me that I am going to be out of work for a month. The doctor The saw me was hesitant to give me IV pain medication’s for a What he called put” sprained shoulder. But he has no idea the pain that I’m going through because everybody takes pain differently and the whole time I was there I was crying because I was in so much pain and nothing was being done about it and they also said they would give me Something to hold my shoulder and my arm close to me so it wasn’t going to be able to move around, but they come back with a sling which that didn’t help because they didn’t give me what they said they were gonna give me. Overall, it was a nightmare being thereand unfortunately that’s the only hospital that’s really close to my house so I had to go to that one. And I was given medication for three or four days which this pain is going to last for a lot longer than four days and they wouldn’t write me a note for not going to work longer. It’s like begging and trying to pull teeth and you still don’t get what you’re nicely asking for. That is one Hospital. I hate going to amongst other complaints that I have heard from friends that have stayed there for a while that are very bad. I don’t recommend it to anyone. Find a better hospital. It’s like they’re just there for a paycheck and they don’t care about who’s coming in through those doors. They do the bare minimum and then they send you off. And then they charge you like crazy for the nothing...
Read moreI just wanted to say thanks for all the care and support for my husband. He got not only better physically but he got better mentally. First time in probably 6 years, he was able to see the light in his life.. He started talking what he wants to do in his life and how much feels happy to realize.. and able to believe he has future. Because all the care he is receiving right now..
He lost his daughter 6 years ago all of a sudden and destroyed him so did his other kids. They were and still are on drugs and live somewhere on the street. My husband was also told he had 6 months to live 6 years ago in the hospital.. so he stopped caring his quality of life.. he was living but not caring his life at all. He was so depressed and it was hard on our marriage.
He has been in hospital since the end of August now it is mid October. I called 911 and he was sent to the closet hospital from our place in August and they discharged him in 8 days even he was not able to walk by himself and I was furious.. He was home for 3 days and I had to call 911 again and this time he was sent to UCLA ICU and other floors and he was there for a month. yes they took care of him well from my point of view but not from his point of view. He was constantly complaining about everything. Yes UCLA one of the best hospital but not everyone was nice and angel . Some were fantastic but not all of them of course we do not expect to get everything but.. He never had a hope to live when he was there..
After he got discharged , This time he was able to walk by himself but this time he was living with severe pain and not able to do much.. his pain didnt go away so
His friend took him to the primary Dr in Calabasas and this Dr recommended him to go to SIMI VALLEY HOSPITAL..
At first when I was told.. I was like WHY this is super far from our place.. but when I heard his voice over the phone. First time in a super long long long time I could communicate with him.
Because of the care and support he has been receiving. They do not treat patients. they treat patients like their guest, He said.. I told my friends if there is anything happened to them go to this hospital. I even mentioned in my social media account.
Thanks so much. not only physical strength but mental strength is very important. they support him also his spirituality..
Thank you super so much.. I want him to stay there as long as he wants not to be transferred. that is the truth , but lets see..
but I just wanted to share to the world of...
