Food Lion — Local services in Simpsonville

There's no nice way to put it, if you're a POC the employees follow you around and watch you like a hawk. It's sooo uncomfortable and distubing. I was putting some drink mix boxes into my cart, I was the only one in the isle, and aaaaaall the way down the isle the employee was just... watching me. You think I'm going to steal a griddle and a box of lemonade mix??? Where? My jeans? Like seriously??? I had no purse, no backpack nothing. Then when I went to self check out, it was like NPCs coming to life and all of a sudden, 3 of them were hovering all around me. It made my skin crawl. I'm only visiting temporarily, this is my second time here, and I'm so glad this it's the last time. I regret they got any money from me, but I wasn't about to put back a cart full of groceries. If this type of thing has never happened to you, please don't be dismissive and be grateful. It's so disheartening to just be living your life, minding your own buisness, and strangers treat you like a criminal. You don't notice right away... But then the unfomfortable feeling of being watched sinks in... and it's just not something I would...

They took the best Bilo in Simpsonville and turned it to the worst grocery store in Simpsonville. The hamburger meat and brats are terrible, couldn’t even finish them. It seems they do not package any meat in house, it’s all brought in. Deli selection is awful. They have a terrible selection of most items. Hardly any dairy free or vegan options. They also took away all of the self check out lines, so you’ll be forced to wait in line (there is always a line) even with 1 item. While the obnoxious and loud manager tries to herd people into whatever line she wants them in, instead of letting people choose for themselves. Honestly hate this store and will just always go to the Walmart across the street, which is saying something because Walmart used to be the worst...

We’re shopping in this Food Lion store late last week when I came upon two store employees talking loudly and having a political discussion. I won’t go into details, but let’s just say they were both sueded to be voting for a certain candidate while they were slamming and talking crap about the other candidate. These discussions should never take place at the workplace and I was not only upset about it. I was highly offended. I looked for a manager to discuss this with and couldn’t find one so I am here by posting this review. The upper management at this location needs to have a conversation with all their employees to not display this type of behavior in the future because If I ever hear of it again, I will never foot set foot...
