Very unprofessional and untrained employees, including the manager that was present that day was a terrible experience and not for the first second or third time of coming to this location. This would be my fourth time I came to this location and the one and only time that I was approached in such a manner because of my backpack and because of me riding my $1500 marine Alcatraz dirt jumper, which is a bicycle, a very expensive one, but since it was indeed a bicycle one that cost about an average person‘s rent payment I’d like to add not one a homeless man would be riding anyways they instantly stereotyped me as a homeless gentleman, and proceeded to call me and my buddy to the back office, which was located behind the counter and they proceeded to tell us to be careful while we’re there cause they have cameras so that instantly struck the situation as they were accusing us of stealing something because of our appearance , even though women walk around with their purses all day long and can easily slip something in their bag rather than a backpack that is on and secured to my back and can be visibly shown being taken off with the cameras that they insisted on saying they had to us again accusing us of doing something because of our appearance and yet still had no proof of any theft happening, and as I proceeded to tell them to show me footage and I even gave them the thumbs up on if they want to search me and I will willingly let them search me so I can show them how much of a sad human they are for accusing two gentlemen because of their appearance going into a thrift store yes a THRIFT STORE FOR LOWER CLASS CITIZENS ,of stealing something. we never took action on any theft at any time during this whole experience, I continued and continued and continued to express how much I want to see the footage that they are saying that they have and questioning why they are bringing the only two gentlemen in the store with backpacks on to the office to tell us that they have cameras and to be careful Now for one if someone was stealing, and they seen that they were stealing they would instantly call the cops or have them escorted out the building which they didn’t so that shown there was no proof of theft. They just wanted to stereotype us because of our appearance and try to scare us When their rent payment don’t even cover the cost of my very expensive “bicycle” They like to say that I was riding on that day, I do not recommend this area to anyone. They are very unprofessional and they need to be set straight because of it cause if it was the right one that they pulled back there to accuse and stereotype. It could’ve went a lot worse, but I handled myself very professionally. I told him that this is very wrong for them to do something to a buying customer that was clearly insisting on letting you search Just to show you there was no theft, and they proceeded to deny it because they knew they were in the wrong had nothing else to do that day, but sit there and act like they are bigger than others when they’re working a thrift store and if something is not done about this, I will get police involved, no matter if that causes me to get trespassed or not does not bother me I will go as far as I can to get those two people out of the store because of the sad on unfortunate events that they wanted to cause I feel bad for whoever has to live with these people. It must be a sad...
Read moreI find plenty of items for great deals! For example, I love me some Coldwater Creek clothing. This is a quality brand that can be quite expensive but at this thrift boutique, I found a pair of pants for $15 (they usually range from $40-$75)!! There are high end brands in here and yes, they can be priced a bit higher BUT they’re still so much lower than the original/retail price. So, the selection is wide and I love being able to have options with a wide range of prices! The people who posted pictures of the prices: those aren’t priced correctly. Money from this boutique goes towards programs such as homeless shelters, providing infant essentials for homeless moms, helping those in addiction overcome, etc. So, at the people who complained of prices being “too high,” please think about the cause it is going to. And what may be “high” to one person may not be high to another. And cut this new store a break y’all. It’s NEW and mistakes are allowed to be made! This doesn’t undermine how awesome this boutique is!! The employees are very helpful and they go above and beyond to help! Love, love, LOVE...
Read moreMost people have a misconception about working at MH, sadly, I was one of those people until today. I've read other reviews and found that others have reported that some associates were rude. And there's a reason why (but also not a justification for their rudeness). Behind the scenes and closed doors, the environment is extremely toxic, abusive, and unsafe. If one even has a slight suggestion to make in hopes to make the store better, prepare to be ostracized. It is seen as "stepping out of your lane." Furthermore, management utilizes intimidation techniques, gaslighting, and bullying to make you comply with what they want. So, the expectation is to stay silent and walk on eggshells. Hopefully not all of the other stores are like this, but I can tell you, it is most certainly true for this location. Please carefully consider what you're getting yourself into if you're considering working or volunteering at this store. I hope that this store will improve someday, I just don't want to...
