My fiancé got my ring from Kay Jeweler's in Colorado, shortly after, we had to move to Sioux Falls.
My first visit into the Sioux Falls Kay Jeweler store was to get my ring down sized. It was recommended that I merely get my two bands sawdered together first since this often causes a more tight fit.
I chose to get the ring sawdered. I'd also like to note that it took the employee's forever to look up my ring that first visit. I then added all of my contact info to their system such as my full name, number, email and so forth. I also informed them that the original stone was swapped out from a morganite to a peach sapphire; for some reason they did not know that looking in their system (which was concerning).
When I returned after 3+ weeks to get my ring back they never saved any of my info and I had to do the process all over again. Also, upon getting my ring back I quickly noticed in a days time that my center stone was jingling/loose which was never any issue before. I immediately brought it back and the guy that was working took plyer's to the ring to try to get the prongs to fit more snuggly around the stone. He then handed me back my ring saying it was fixed. I began to walk out and could still hear it jingling. I turned around and told him it was not fixed. After having my ring back for 1 day they had to re-send it back out to their Texas store which is usually a minimum down time of 3 weeks. After about 3 weeks the ring got back to their store. They called and left me a voicemail saying they got the ring back and the stone was still jingling and that they realized the prongs needed to be longer to hold to the stone better and that they were sending it back again.
3+ more weeks go by and they get the ring back into their store and the issue is still present and the prongs were never changed, adjusted or swapped out for longer ones. Basically, they have had my ring more than I have over the last 4 or so months and never fixed the issue.
Another issue that I had was each time they would send it off, they give you an estimate of the value of your ring for insurance purposes. The guy at the store has no clue what he is doing or about stones and rings. He quoted me for the old stone of morganite, not my current peach sapphire stone. When I told him this, he looked at his tablet appearing to change stuff and then precedes to tell me that the peach sapphire stone and the morganite stone are the same value! Helped me avoid a selection that would have led to needing to buy a new one again in a few years and answered every question with a smile. But what really made them stand out was how they worked with my 3 year old son. Jewlery shopping isn't exactly the most exciting experience for a 3 year old. They gave him some stuffed animals that he absolutely loves, played with him, and even let him build a "bridge over lava" with the extra chairs. Brought in a few bracelets whose clasps had broken & one tarnished bracelet & she explained what they could do for both issues. Gave me receipts for the two she kept to fix letting me know they'd look into the options for repair & call me with the final cost before proceeding.
