ALDI — Local services in Sioux Falls Township

I love shopping at this Aldi, but last week it was not a good experience. I was looking for something and couldn't find it after going around the store a couple times. I couldn't find a worker to help me, except one in the back. She has her arm in a sling, and made eye contact with me. She started to walk over and I thought "Oh yay I'm gonna get help." Not the case. She walked over to the door, looked me in the eyes and closed the door and walked away. I ended up circling the store another time and decided to forget it and not get whatever it was I couldn't find. I wasn't going to spend more time in that store. I've seen her around since and she looks like she really doesn't want people to approach her, or like she doesn't like her job. I love Aldi but every time I see her I feel like I...

I'm an Aldi newbie. Those that shop here often know how to do it but as a new person, nothing is normal. There are no carts inside, they are outside but once you are in you have to walk through the check stands to go back out. There are no smaller carts or hand baskets, just HUGE carts that are locked up with some kind of chain key slot. At first I thought you had to put a quarter in it or something. There is no rhyme or reason for how the aisles are organized so it's a hunt and peck to find stuff and the items seem very random. When you check out, apparently you have to have a bag because they don't. There are no helps our signagebthat tells you anything about how to shop at Aldi. Aldi always has great deals. Be aware that they are a intentionally a small store in order to keep overhead low. Their business model is very unique and allows the prices to remain low all the time. With that being said, they will not have all the name brands or the multiple variations of every item. The inventory changes frequently based on economics. This is a great place to add to you grocery run if you food prep or comparison shop. Just don't plan on buying your entire list here. Use this as your first stop and then get whatever they don't have at your next favorite store. Aldi saves us up to 50% on our grocery bill when we plan ahead and comparison shop.
