Odd Lot Outlet — Local services in Smithfield Township

UPDATE: ummmmmmm… THIS PLACE HAS A COMPLETELY NEW VIBE! The staff has changed? Everyone I encountered was extremely friendly and seemed like they were genuinely willing to step away from what they were doing to help you. I don’t know if it’s new management or just a shift in attitude, BUT the atmosphere has definitely changed!! A PLUS PLUS!

OLD REVIEW: This is basically one of my FAVEY stores. Unique finds every time. There was an incident today. New woman(in training)working the cashwrap. She was a breath of fresh air because typically the cashiers are just barely making eye contact, let alone smiles. She noticed a line forming and asked the other woman to ring people. The other woman refused and said “I’m training you.” It was really just uncomfortable. BUT THENNNNN, the new woman said “not really” and just kept ringing with a smile. I was floored and my heart was smiling from top to bottom. I was very impressed. I would have hired her on the spot because I need people like her. She actually “understoooooood the assignment!” She probably got fired. I’d put an lol there but getting fired isn’t funny. I should have hung back and waited and poached her but…. I didn’t have time. Either way! Standing up for yourself and calling people out for being condescending neeeeds to happen more often! The other woman was clearly not “training”. (I’ve worked retail for 34 years. I’ve been there and said nothing. I’m just happy she got to say her piece!)

This store is a lot of fun, but their prices have been getting higher the past couple of years. Some of it is ridiculous and you see the SAME EXACT item at Dollar Tree for just $1 ($1.25).

The best things:

GREETING CARDS - were 50% off, but now, 2 f or $1 which is much better. I buy a ton (at least a dozen) every trip.

SCRAPBOOK PAPER - .10 Cents a sheet - and GOOD stuff!

I also get a lot of office supplies, though sometimes the pricing is not good. A large bubble envelope was $2 almost. The same one at another store was 2 for $1.

The employees are nice and they have a restroom which is wheelchair friendly.

But it is fun and you will find things you didn't know you needed or...

This place is amazing, they had things that I haven't seen in a couple of decades. You should make sure you have time to wander around the store before you go, there are so many things to look through. If you want to see everything, Take your time, there are nice little treasures you can find, at good prices. I picked up some things that I didn't even know I needed lol.

The workers were very friendly and knowledgeable.

The only downside I can see to this place is the fact that I wanted to buy probably 80% what was in the store LOL

Don't forget you get a free gift on your way out of the store.
