Tech Install — Local services in Somerville

Booked an appointment for Tech Install to come mount my TV this morning after somebody mounted our TV too high and was very disappointed in their customer service. Prior to my appointment, I texted the manager about the setup, including pictures, measurements, and details about what we were looking for. I also specified to him that I wanted their team to recommend the appropriate setup for our space.

The TV is mounted above an electric SimpliFire fireplace that does not have a real flame, and their team is not familiar with this type of setup. After texting with the manager for over an hour and being assured that we'd be able to lower the TV, the technicians arrived at my house and told me they could only lower the TV 3 inches because the fireplace would cause damage to the TV and soundbar. It is currently mounted over 13 inches above the electric fireplace. The technicians did not provide any recommendations, despite my initial request when I reached out to the manager for their team to recommend the ideal setup. They sat on my couch to see whether the TV was eye-level and gestured for how much you have to tilt your neck to look up at the tv with the current setup. They then called their manager to get his opinion and after speaking with him told me he would text me. The text was an updated quote for an additional $100.

Due to this experience, I do not trust this company. I asked them to leave as I am not willing to pay someone to incorrectly mount my TV again. I also reiterated to the manager while I was texting with him beforehand that the reason I had so many questions was because I wanted to make sure it was done right. Following this experience, I spoke with the manufacturers of my electric fireplace, soundbar, and TV and confirmed that the only clearance needed above the fireplace was 5/8 of an inch. This means that there was at least 12 inches of room for my TV to be moved down without causing any damage to my sound bar or TV. After Tech Install left I gave Mr Home Guy a call and am already much happier with the experience...

UPDATE: The team which comprises of Fabio and Mayra were very respectful of the property and my timing. They were incredibly cognizant of what was needed and asked to check a few times on where the TV placement should be. On top of that, they suggested a couple of cheaper alternatives to help me save money while retaining the quality of the job. I was overall impressed with the service provided because Joe not only gave me very competitive prices, but was very on point with his customer service and care through the whole process. He uses a live invoice service that he can update if things are needed / not needed. On top of that, he also offers a 5% discount if you pay with cash!

INITIAL REVIEW : Mild disbelief that I got a hold of someone on such short notice. Found them via Google search and I clicked on a paid ad. Joe was incredibly professional over the phone and we have an appointment scheduled for this Thursday to mount my two TVs for a very competitive price too. Excited to see...

I spent the whole week trying to find a team to mount three of my TVs. I went through two companies that completely let me down and never got back to me. I found Tech Install and contact them right away they responded within minutes and they came the same day despite the busy day they had such an amazing team and service.
