Poor customer service. Couldn't get the clerk watching the self checkout to come and give us help when the machine wouldn't allow us to pay for our groceries.
She kept going over to other red lit machines that had come on after us. She even went to the side and started talking to a customer on the other side of the barrier. Finally, she headed our way but veered off and then helped someone on the across from me. After that, she turned to walk away even though I motioned to her that I needed help. Totally ignored me and walked in the opposite direction. I yelled as loud as I could that I needed help. She still ignored me.
At that point I was considering leaving all my bagged groceries and going across the street to the Walmart when a short woman approached from the opposite direction. I thought she was another clerk coming to help. Oh no. She said she was a manger and didn't appreciate me "yelling" at her employee.
I told her I wouldn't have had to yell. "Hey lady, I need help here" if she hadn't kept avoiding us. Do you think she would have asked me first if there was a problem or if she could help me? No. All she kept saying was that "yelled" at her worker and she didn't appreciate it and didn't want it to happen again. I told her it wouldn't have happened the first time if the woman wouldn't socialize and put red lights in the wrong priority only doing the ones closest to her.
She didn't care about any of that. She kept harping on me about raising my voice, which I had to do because it was crowded, noisy and the woman had turned her back on me once again and was walking away. Her focus should have been to help me, give the woman some help since she was incapable of tracking the proper sequence of red lights or giving the employee some kind off remedial training or a talking to. Everything was backwards and I was the villain not the injured party.
Somehow my machine started working properly out of the blue and I was able to complete my purchase and leave. Thank God.

It had dog Fecal matter all over it. My wife went to return it after work and the manager on duty was a very rude individual we had the original recipient and were returning it within 24 hours. He belittled my wife and accused her of being a frequent person of returning items here, when we never return anything our account even shows it . He was laughing at her and getting a kick out of making a woman cry and embarrassed her to the point of crying. I had gone in there to try and talk to him and ask why he would think itās ok to talk to someone this way he immediately accused me of accusing him of being a disrespectful to my wife and told me āI need your information youāre banned from my store. I would like you to leave.ā I said āI canāt because you have a invictas security guard and your self Corning meā and he then told me he was getting a officer to arrest me. I stated I have not done anything other than try to talk to you. He threatened me with arrest and getting me fired from my job when I am a civilian in normal attire ? And as Iām walking out of the store because I had to make my own path to get out he told me I have your information. Iāll figure out what department you work for you will be fired by the morning. Iām not to sure why a manager sees it is okay to talk to a woman in that manner or treat others in the way he treated me. We both have a retail background and understand the pressures that brings. How ever, what we experienced at this Meijer was unacceptable. When we normally shop here we get āokā service. Most employee are friendly enough, Even though we have never had an employee say hello or offer to help us unless we were at a service counter. But, on Black Friday at around 8pm we were very disappointed with the service we received. We picked up a coat for my son and when we got to the front it rang up $20 more than the sign. The cashier called someone from that department and she told us that although it was clear to her that it was the same cost, it was a different color so there was nothing she could do. So, we asked for a manager and got the front end leader John W. He seemed annoyed right away that he had to be called over there. He then said if we knew how to read we would see that only one color of that coat was on sale(it wasnāt very clear on the sign). He then said that he isnāt going to honor the sale because it was āclearlyā a different item. He then ripped down the sign and said āthere, now thereās no sign to confuse youā. We replied that we still wanted him to honor the price because we didn't work there and it wasnāt clear to anyone that this coat wasnāt included. He told us that we werenāt getting the coat for that price and we canāt get anyone higher than him and we can get the F**k out of his store.
