Ive been shopping at aldi for almost five years at the cortez branch in bradenton. I moved and one was being built on 41 right by my house I was ecstatic. Its a typically great affordable food...... Until lately I feel like I've purchased food and its spoil with then a few days. I spent 250 on food if you dont thats like a whole cart full. I always rummage threw and look for the latest sell by date. I purchased 40 worth of meat and when i went to pull out my chicken it smelled soured the sell by date was a week away. Went to use the hamburger meat it smelled like a freshmowed lawn went to pull the porkchops the blood had a hue of brown. Now im paniced im thinking great my fridge broke nope everything else is super cold i even used a meat thermometer and it was okay. Now im stuck because thats a weeks worth of meats ruined . So here I go to see if I can exchange it. The cashier is so unbelievably apologetic and says to find similar meat and they will exchange my meat and refund my money. When i get up the she needs any over ride. Cashier says that she seen me shopping last week (friday and its now monday) and manager comes over and says its just exchange it but you cant expect the food the stay good for weeks what do i expect now im super embarrassed the stuff was all before the sell by date and i said that. She went mumbling off well still thats still a long time. I get home hamburger smells the same a day later go to cook chicken its soured. And i dont have a receipt because she just exchanged it. I dont want to go back because im not about confratation I dont want to be belittled again. And i have two other grocery stores withthing walking distance . So sorry Aldi but i will not shop...
Read moreA Love-Hate Relationship with ALDI
As a former Germany resident, I have a soft spot for ALDI. I've been a fan of their efficient shopping experience and affordable prices for years. But, my latest visit to this particular ALDI left me feeling, well, a bit bruised.
I'm an avid member of the ALDI Facebook group, and I saw a post about their German Cuisine week, which got me excited! So, I stopped by yesterday, on Sunday, to check it out and stocked up on all my favorite goodies. But, as I approached the checkout, my excitement quickly turned into dismay. Cashier Anna's product-handling skills could use some... refinement. She threw my groceries straight from the cash register down two feet below into an iron cart, with a force that would put a football quarterback to shame! Let's just say my bananas were crushed, and my desserts met an untimely demise. I've seen gentler treatment at a hardware store!
I mean, I know ALDI is known for its no-frills approach, but I didn't expect my groceries to be treated like, well, footballs. Despite the store's overall 5-star experience, Anna's checkout style earned a solid 0 from me. Sorry, ALDI, but I'll be taking my business (and my fragile produce) elsewhere.
Keep up the great work, ALDI team! Just maybe provide Anna with some product-handling training... or a gentle reminder to treat our...
Read moreApparently aldi doesn't want customers in the store past 730pm? I'm confused ... I arrived at 745 pm and was rudely asked to leave by a worker named Tyler. He was upset that I mentioned cleaning the store floors with harsh chemicals made my throat hurt and that maybe waiting 15 minutes till the store closed would make more sense.. Within 5 minutes of being in this tiny store I had to move 5 times from the big mobile toxic floor cleaner... Tyler was very concerned in getting off of work early from what it seems. He threatened to kick me out which was nuts lol I laughed and left.. Customers aren't first here at aldi... employee egos are .. What a joke. Side note , the young skinny black gentleman that works here is very polite and works hard... He should be replacing the Tyler's of the world .. Mr...
