S.O.B. Burgers — Restaurant in Florida

Today, 5/17/2025, we chose to visit S.O.B. Smash Burgers, again. It has been a few months since our last visit. Today was not the best day. We came in, around 5p, we were the second table to be filled, for the evening. Our waitress, Claudia, greeted us quickly. She was friendly and brought the beer/water quickly. Our food orders were taken and came out as ordered. Husband had the Hangover Burger, I opted for the Bavarian. The 'pretzel' bun was soggy, I regret ordering it. Everything else was good. Claudia returned to check on us, my husband ordered a second draft beer...SHE NEVER RETURNED. He kept looking for her to bring his beer. We both looked around, thinking she would refill the waters. Nothing. We were just dropped. Another waitress stopped to clear our food dishes, and said that she would send Claudia, since we had asked if she'd be returning. She came back, we asked for our bill--no water refills offered or asked for. She brings the bill and then apologizes for not bringing the second beer and asks if he would still like to have it. We made sure that it had not been included on our bill (it was not), paid and left. I'm not sure that we will return, this was such a poor visit. This place was worth every bite! A completely 'chance' visit. Out for the afternoon, hungry--SOB Burgers popped up on the GPS. We had no idea what we were getting into, but it turned out to be an amazing place, with great food and excellent service. Lindsay had the front of the house completely under control: hostess, server, delivery, refill, cashier, to-go/online orders. Kitchen staff produced great quality food. This spot has some of the best burgers! Dive bar setting with a pool table, pinball machine, and the tables by the wall include TVs.

The menu of course is nothing but burgers. There’s a wide variety of options. Be prepared if you order a double. The size of the burger is massive! All burgers are cooked medium to medium well. Mine was juicy and cooked perfectly.

As an app, we ordered the Mac ‘n Cheese. It didn’t take long for our appetizer to arrive. The portion of the Mac ‘n Cheese was huge. I was having dinner with my girlfriend and easily we had leftovers. It’s a big serving; probably more for 3-4 people. Regardless, it was delicious and we nearly finished the bowl.

Both of us had the Brewmaster burger, which comes with cheese sauce, caramelized onions, and bacon. Since I don’t like too much cheese on the burger, I asked for the sauce on the side. This burger was heaven. In truth, it was a bit greasy. But what do you expect in a good ol’ burger?

The bacon were more like thick cut chunks of paradise. They were perfectly crisped and for naturally with the large burger. The platter comes with a generous amount of fries, too.

All in all, we enjoyed the place for what it is: a small place serving excellent burgers. Above it all however was the attention and level of service we received from our server. Amanda was clearly running the show that evening. Albeit quiet at the time we arrived, she was courteous and attentive with us. She offered recommendations and met our needs. Amanda made our evening. Decided to stop here one evening for dinner while in town. Glad I did.

Was greeted the moment I walked in the door by the very friendly and upbeat server. Seat myself anywhere I'd like and would be right with me.

Within a minute or two she was over to bring a menu and take my drink order. Everything on the menu looked good and was very well described. I opted on my favorite style burger , mushroom and Swiss and an order of onion rings.

The food was brought out quickly. Looked good and portions were very appropriate for the cost. The onion rings were very good. Real onions, and tasty batter but not overdone on the spices like some places. The burger was great. Very flavorful. Cooked just right and not over done and dry. Plenty of grilled mushrooms and an ample amount of cheese.

Not once during my visit did I feel neglected, as the server made more than enough visits to see how my meal was, needed refill on my drink, etc. She was very friendly and personable. You could also see she was checking on everyone dinning as often as well. The service was outstanding.

The food was well worth the price. Taking into consideration the cost to portion size, quality of the food, and overall service, this is definitely a place to go to get great value for your money.

I will be returning for sure on my next visit to the area and have already recommended it a few times to others. Looking forward to trying all...
