This message might some of you say this is pernicious of me to post about worst service from Home Depot South Brunswick NJ. Take this as a lesson and not personally. Understand the expectations that consumers have towards a billion-dollar business. In this day and age, itâs proven that smaller businesses have great relationships with their customers than do large businesses. Thatâs because the larger, the more responsibilities, another thing most people fail to realize.
Before commenting on this post, understand why a Customer goes to Home Depot , I went to have peace of mind to get work done thinking Home Depot deliver to Customer with full commitment . This is feedback for Home Depot service and as Company Home Depot to do better job in customer service . This is not directed towards to any specific person that work for this company. Feel free to read through, but understand one thing, if you think that because a billion-dollar company is successful due to the revenue theyâve generated, just remember that they are as great as their last customer transaction.
These are sequence of events which occurred during Hard Wood Flooring buy and Installation owned by Home Depot South Brunswick Store NJ. I paid amount for Hard Wood Installation on 11/25 and it has been over month and I am struggling with multiple issues. ⢠Hard wood items were not delivered around 2 weeks and no update from Home Depot although they have got my Phone number and text can be sent. ⢠Calling to Customer care service is another problem where every time you need to explain to new person pick up phone.Lack of tracking customer questions/concern. ⢠Also there are instances where Customer care pick up phone and then before I completing just telling this is what the date and hanging phone before I completing . If they are so busy then better not receive call. ⢠Multiple times going to Home Depot Store and track where my items and whatâs expected date. ⢠Home depot gives commitment for a date and then do not deliver on that date and not notify to customer itâs has been delayed. ⢠Finally some items delivered and then some not and delivery paper shows it has been delivered and I have to go back to Home Depot Store again to track why some items not delivered. ~ Items delivered will be on the trails and and you need haul it to pull back all 37 items and thatâs heavy lifting exercise and you need to open to get ready for installation day. Not sure why I am paying so much to Home Depot . ⢠Installation person came for installation 12/26 and 12/27 and one item missing for installation. This means to take another appointment for installation 01/06/2021. One item delivered after actual installation . Store and installation need better co-ordination. ⢠90% Installation done, but it cause damage and water leaking from Kitchen floor to Basement area. Installation guy was nice and miss happen sometime but Home Depot does not take this priority and asked me To do another chase insurance company to claim for my property damage.Home Depot provided me contact# and left issue to customer to deal with claim process ⢠Home depot selling items and arranging installation , but how about Damage why not sending someone to look into matters.
Now, I am in process of getting work pending done and get repaired my home damage and claiming that damage value.I am talking Home Depot store, Insurance company , installation company. It seems as customer I am doin store associate job!!
Is not all these process where Customer at every step following Home Depot rather Home Depot Associates should take care responsibility and provide update for each steps as the work proceed.
I would personally not recommend to take such pathetic service from...

Thank you for following up regarding your review posted three days ago. Based on your installation order (H6917-280815), your concerns were escalated to our Home Services team, and case number 38733050 was created. You expressed issues with your installation, and a Settlement and Release Agreement was provided, which you signed and returned. On July 7, 2025, you confirmed via email that you received the compensation check. Although this wasn't the outcome any of us expected, your feedback has been documented and will be used to help improve the customer experience. -Ivana
Original: This is a factual account of our kitchen remodel experience with Home Depot (Monmouth Junction, NJ) using KraftMaid cabinets.
We spent tens of thousands of dollars on cabinets, expecting high service quality. That expectation was not met. Below are the issues we faced, along with the resolutionsâwhich we often had to manage ourselves:
Tall Oven Cabinet â Cracked panel, gaps, chips. â Replacement ordered via KraftMaid; delayed project by 2 weeks.
Five Drawers â All bowed, visibly misaligned. â Replacements ordered, same as above.
Trash Can Drawer Door â Bowed; top edge didnât meet cabinet. â Same resolution.
Bi-fold Wall Cabinet Door â Chipped. â Same resolution.
Toe Kick for Lazy Susan â Missing entirely. HD placed a separate (incorrect) order that never arrived. â After a 1+ hour call, replacement came too lateâcontractors rebuilt it themselves (and did a better job).
Toe Kick Covers â Inconsistent design. â Marilyn explained the design; better specs would have avoided this. We only received basic renders with minimal measurements.
Kitchen Sink Mismatch â Original sink wasnât considered in the design. â We compromised with a smaller sink. Marilyn helped research the largest fit, and HD covered the costâthis was helpful.
Design Diagrams â For a $21k+ purchase, we expected detailed blueprints. â Only received a partial diagram and basic 3D renderâno labels or full measurements. Marilyn suggested bringing in our contractor, but we shouldn't have had to pay extra for clarification.
Island Confusion â Unclear if structural components were included. No instructions; 3 'Stock wood' pieces arrived bowed. â Replacements also bowed and too wide. Contractors had to cut them, causing minor cosmetic issues.
Shoe Molding (Wall Cabinets) â Missing. â Marilyn agreed; more was delivered.
Oven Door Replacement â Replacement was chipped too. â Promised within 7â10 days, arrived 2+ weeks laterâcontractor had already finished.
Drawer Door (Stovetop) â Obvious scratch on the replacement. â Same delay as above.
Home Depot's Resolution: Offered $500 as compensationânot reflective of the time and effort we invested. Escalating required formal documentation and signatures.
Lowes: We sourced our countertop from Loweâs. It was installed within 4 days of purchaseâan experience that far exceeded HDâs. We recommend considering Loweâs...
Read moreAn update on 8/7/2025, I have never been so frustrated. I was trying to pick up a few buckets of driveway sealer. They moved everything randomly near outside of the entrance. When I asked 2 people that work there, they give me different directions to where to find them and they were wrong. I finally found it. Of course they added the stupid shopping cart can't go outside, stopped your cart right there by the door even though I have an empty cart (What is the point of this BS). Then I'm supposed to put the stuff on the cart in the middle of entrance and outside, and they have to walk over and scan them. The old lady that worked there have an attitude like why do you bother me. I'm not sure what's going w/ the store, most other home depot is not like that. They must have recruited some of the most people that don't want to work there. Last time I remembered when I used the curb side pick up because I was in a rush. The guy came out and question me, why do you need curb side pick up? The reason I need curbside pick up is that I can never find anything in the store, and associate is not helpful, 2nd reason is that I'm in a rush.
An update on 5/4/2025, The old lady that worked at return gives you such a bad feeling because she is so judgemental. I returned something after using it and found that it is broken. First she said oh it is used, then told other people that this guy returned something that is used. Are you kidding me? First, if I don't use it, how would I know it is broken. If I don't use it and return brand new, I would not buy it first place. This is bs. I am driving 30 minutes more just go to Lowe's from now on.
Seems to be getting worse and worse. People work there seem to be despondent and feels like I am in Walmart.
Quite possibly the worst home depot I ever been to, it has very small footprint and things are not stocked as well as other regular size home depot. They also have a problem of not restocking on a regular schedule, I know because for a whole week I did not see the thing I wanted in the marked location, I know they have it in stock because I ordered online, they found it. Just feel like a store that are not doing well at all.
You can almost never find a worker when you need some help. While at Lowes, everywhere I look, there is a helpful worker there.
This is getting worse, I have been there twice since the Pandemic started. They closed the garden gate at around 4pm even though store closes st 8pm. There have been 6 to 7 times when i get there, knowing that they have what i need but not stock it on the shelf. It is very frustrating, it is worst home depot ever.
I have now simply drive another 20 minutes and go to the home depot at Nassau park....
