Let me start by saying this, it sucks because I've been on both sides of the spectrum. I've been in both management and as an hourly, as a trainer and as someone that's new on the job getting trained. That being said with the correct delegation tonight wouldn't have happened. While the gentleman helping us was polite he was very soft spoken and didn't know what he was doing(he became frustrated because nobody was helping). He then wanted to verify that kids meals were available because the signage didn't state it at all. He asked one of the women in the back(not sure what her title was) and she directed him to ask the other woman that was working the drivethru window. Hse then came over, verified what I wanted and punched it in the gentleman then gave me my total which seemed a little off but I still paid because now there was a line accumulating behind me. I then looked at my receipt to find that I was indeed over charged....by almost $10. The original woman he had asked for help came over this time to suffice the situation by fixing it all and ended up giving me cash back after totaling the overcharged amount. I sat down with my party to wait for the food, I then was called back up when it was ready. Dispersed everyone's meal and here certain sliders were a bit cold. I didn't want to walk back up because there was now another issue with another customer who wasn't as calm as me about the situation. As she tried to ease the tension in the back the two other gentleman near the fries found it comical. Why, I dont know, they could have easily stepped up and tried to help while she was making all of the sliders. Once things cooled off I went up and let the woman that had helped us at earlier that our food was basically cold, she made me another and I went about my way. I just feel like instead of telling the other customer that was very upset "we're short staffed" you could've had the gentleman that was doing the fries...
Read moreI rarely write reviews on places, but I felt the need to add one here as a warning because my experience was THAT bad. I was on a road trip back to Maryland last week and decided to make a quick stop here on the way. Rather than ordering on the app as I originally planned, I decided to head to the counter. Big mistake.
I spoke to the cashier and let him know that I was going to get the advertised Crave Nation $7 deal on a combo along with a few extra sliders. When he rang me up, I noticed a price discrepancy of several dollars (with a total of almost $20) and tried to explain to him that I was being charged way more than I should have (either he didn't apply the coupon or added some items).
Anyway, I'm not sure if there was a language barrier, but I had to keep trying to explain the situation, and his responses made no sense. After a few minutes, he sounded like he understood and then showed me a total that made more sense, so I paid for my order. When I received it, I noticed that the extra sliders were not included, even though I could see on the receipt that I was charged for them. I asked him about this, and he insisted that I wasn't charged (even though they were clearly on the receipt) and that the total paid was accurate. I eventually had to give up explaining myself so that I didn't make a scene, but at the end of the day I ended up paying like $14 for two sliders, a drink, and fries when the coupon advertised like $7...
I tried to reach out to White Castle via the help link on their site, but they were useless, unfortunately. It probably goes without saying, but I will never visit this location again, and I would advise others to steer clear unless they want to get ripped off under the guise of not being able to understand a simple request. Just shady all-around. Plenty of other choices in my area, so I'll avoid this one from now on and head literally...
Read moreI've been a fan of White Castle since I can remember. From a young child to my teens then through the Brooklyn disco scene OF THE 70S AND 80S, similar to Saturday Night Fever, going to White Castle at 4am to get a few sliders because we were broke and couldn't afford the diner.
But in all honesty, we didn't care. At 4am, we had the place to ourselves to recap our evening of striking out with the ladies to new strategies for next week. Nothing ever worked, but in the end, we could always count on White Castle.
Ten doubled cheese burgers, fries and a vanilla thick shake so thick that you can turn it upside-down and it wouldn't fall out of the cup.
I can't help myself, since they built a White Castle just a few minutes from me, I am compelled to stop each time I get a hankering for the best burgers cooked a top the best onions then placed on the best rolls with the best... (you see where this is going right? Everything about the burgers are delicious.)
But they don't only have burgers. They have chicken and fries and new things every time I stop and check out the menu, so it's an adventure and if you don't like what's on the menu, you could always fall back to your old standby. The perfect burger, square burger with 5 holes in it, cooked a top steamed onions with the bun on top of that so everything soaks into the bread.
A slice of pickle, a dab of ketchup, and you have perfection.
Great now that I've seen this and made a review I don't have to get into my car and take the 10 minute journey to White Castle, but I will. Maybe I'll get a sack of 20 double cheeseburgers and fries. 10 you can freeze to in a Ziploc quart-size bag and pull them out at any time you have the craving.
knowing that they're sitting there in the freezer calling out your name, you'll be craving, oh there'll be cravings!!!!
BEST...
