I bought gloves at this at Harbor Freight in Burlington VT and when I got home I later realized that they charged me tax on them, even though clothing is non-taxable in VT. I called the store who then gave me a customer service phone number and told me that they would be able to help get the matter addressed. The customer service person to whom I spoke told me that there is nothing that they could do and that I had to go to the store. I explained that the store is 50 miles one way and I'm not driving that far for $5.24. I then asked what HF was going to do about the fact that they are charging tax on non-taxable items, to which I was told I would have to take that up with the store. Mind you that the person at the store to whom I spoke with provided me with the customer support number and told me to call them. So basically I got the run around and nothing was done at all to remedy both the fact that I deserve a refund on tax that should have been collected and the fact that they are doing nothing to address the fact that they are collecting tax on non-taxable...
Read moreWe put a 2 year warranty on our generator that lasted no more than 3 months. The only thing that the “manager” was able to tell us is that because we switched a generator in the first 4 months of our 2 YEAR warranty it’s now gone. We tried asking why our 2 year warranty of $200 is just gone and his only response was “I can give you the customer service phone number I don’t know how to help you” Don’t buy the warranties for the predator products. All harbor freight is doing is taking your money for a product that’s only guaranteed to work for 3 months and not doing anything to compensate the customers needs. They will rob you. They also just decided to hang up when they didn’t feel like helping us anymore with our problem. The manager at the South Burlington Harbor Frieght doesn’t know how to work customer service- he should be terminated from his position. The counter person, who was not familiar with this type of exchange, was MORE helpful in our problem than the manager was. If I could give this store 0 stars, I...
Read moreThis overall is a decent place, though it's selection is perhaps a little smaller than it could be. Harbor Freight in general has some great deals though, and I highly recommend it for certain kinds of tools and accessories. Its lifetime warranties on hand tools make it a particularly nice place to get certain kinds of things for both an affordable price and at a fairly high quality. An unconditional, no questions asked warranty is hard to be as long as the quality of a specific item is good, and at this point many items at Harbor Freight sells are high-quality.
If you're new to Harbor Freight, go online and look at reviews or check out YouTube videos on specific things to get a really clear sense of what you're buying, unless you know exactly what you're doing. Harbor Freight has some real treasures, and it also has some things that maybe aren't so great. Overall though, it seems like a nice addition to the resources in the Burlington and South...
