Zero Stars! Look at the review before booking! QUALITY INN SHELBURNE , VT. WE CHECKED IN AND STAYED FOR 5 MIN. OUR ROOM WAS ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE PROPERTY IN A REMOTE AREA. WALKING TO OUR ROOM WE WERE ASKED TO PURCHASE DRUGS FROM SOMEONE. OUR ROOM HAD A BROKEN DOOR FRAME (HAVE PHOTOS). UNABLE TO LOCK DOOR AND PUSH DOOR OPEN. BED HAD HAIR IN IT. ALL FURNITURE WAS STAINED AND DIRTY AND BLACK MOLD. YOU COULD NOT WALK BAREFOOT ON THE CARPET. THE SMELL WAS SO DISGUSTING. HOTEL STAFF REFUSED TO REFUND THE ROOM ($481) AND DIDN'T OFFER ANOTHER ROOM. WHEN LEAVING MY WIFE WAS HARRASSED AGAIN TO BUY (DRUGS) BY SOMEONE THAT MADE US FEEL VERY UNSAFE. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! Still waiting for a refund. Still waiting. Edit 7/16 still waiting for a refund, have escalated this further. Place should be condemned. UPDATE- opened case with BBB - Hotel has ignored this request for a refund and had done nothing about it. Choice hotel gave us some points which are useless since their properties all sub par. They should be ashamed of themselves. Edit 8/7 - I was not refunded at all for this room. Almost $500 for one night at this dump. Edit 9/9 - Still no refund, hotel claims I got points from choice hotels, the points i got doesn't cover a one night stay and they jst took my $500 for a room that was not useable. Beware of this property. Edit 9/24 - no resolution yet Edit 10/1 - no resolution yet, in fact never once recieved a phone call from the manager which shows you how much they really care about their customers. I've sent reports all over to condem this place.

I generally try to be understanding of hotels not being perfect. Especially when it’s an older hotel in the midst of renovations. This hotel had a very pretty lobby, a decent pool area, solid complimentary breakfast, but the room was pretty frightening. The door barely latched without using the deadbolt, then there was so much gaping in the door frame. The bathroom door did not close at all, thankfully it was just my fiancé and I but if you need a locking bathroom door you’re out of luck. There were cobwebs and bugs in every corner of the floor and ceiling, there was a huge spider above the bed, whatever this red looking bug was on the bed cover. We promptly removed that. The shower head leaks, black mold in the shower. I did check and the bed seemed to be free of bed bugs but there were blood stains on the box spring that I forgot to take a picture of.The carpets were absolutely disgusting. Again, I understand being in the middle of renovations but for what we paid for one night the least we expect is a clean room. I was afraid to put any luggage on the floor and plan to immediately wash everything we brought, clean or dirty, before bringing it back into the house. I wish I had read some of these reviews before booking as well, as the rude replies from management would have been all I would have needed to stay away. It’s also worth noting that we were there following a funeral, not there for a vacation.

If you’re interested in being cat fished for maybe the first time this hotel will do it for you. The pictures on Google are 98% inaccurate. Hotel smells disgusting all over, they should either remove all the carpeting or really invest in a top to bottom cleaning. The room we stayed in was so gross that we went to target and purchased Fabreeze and air purifier pods to keep the room smelling reasonable. I could not believe how badly the rooms and hall ways smelled, mold, must, dust, overly fowl odors. We sprayed our room at least 7-8 times throughout the stay per day and it still continued to smell. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall, the nightstand was sticky and gross. The bathroom was falling apart. The carpet had caked up what looked to be chocolate bars or mud with rocks. The fridge made some loud noises all through the night which caused us to unplug it. The hot tub was filled with gray water. Mattresses are stained and dated, I may as well have slept on the floor. 4 half size pillows placed on each bed in the room that are fluffed to appear comfortable but immediately go flat when you rest your head on it. I could not of been more dissatisfied with a hotel accommodation. The location is probably the only part of this hotel that makes it okay. It’s easy to go to many parts of Burlington quite quickly and easily. Otherwise I would 1000% recommend staying elsewhere as this hotel is disgusting.

The lobby appeared clean and updated. Things went downhill quickly from there. The hallway smelled very strong of air freshener. Very overwhelming and unpleasant. The lights in the hallway had so many dead bugs in them, it was obvious they hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. I forgot to take a picture. The door to our room didn’t seem very secure. It wasn’t until we turned the lights off to go to sleep when we noticed that we could see light from the hallway all around the door. We had to use an iPad to watch Monday night football. We called the front desk and were told that only the first floor gets those channels. Wait, what? I’m pretty sure that Monday night football is on one of the major networks. One would assume that if you are selecting a room with a King bed, there will likely be two people staying. There was a bed and only one chair. There’s room for two chairs. Be careful in the pool area. The steps entering the hot tub and the flooring around the entire pool area are very slippery. The pool is nice and it’s heated. Look, I had something positive to say about this place. During our first breakfast, there was nobody tending to the breakfast bar. Nobody available to ask questions or restock. I have pictures of the following issues: Heat sensor damaged. Disgusting, dirty, non-functioning light/fan combo in bathroom. Ceiling issues in the room and bathroom. Sign taped to a door saying updates are being made that looks like it’s been there for at least a year. No updates were happening during our stay. The sign is torn, has stains on it and the tape adhering it to the door is all wrinkled.

I hope someone takes the time to read this and address the issues. There were less expensive options when we were booking our hotel, but I assumed that being part of a “chain” would ensure Quality as the name implies. I was disappointed with our stay at...

Extremely disappointed. Buyer beware. We overpaid ($188/night) for 2 nights and were so disappointed that we cut our losses after the first night and left. The cost of the room did not align with the expectations of standards. I implore management and the Choice Hotels leadership to take a serious review of what is going on at this location. Photos used to represent the property are not even close to the reality of the situation. Arrived in time to go to bed, so tried to make the best of it and overlooked the obvious issues upon arrival; dirty, stained carpets in the hallways/stairwells, broken doors, cloudy windows & broken bathroom tiles. Were able to justify that it might be ok since the air conditioning worked and the room was big-ish, we had paid for 2 nights and also wanted to keep our kids calm about the experience and just get through the night. The next morning we got up and out quickly, with all four of us having our own internal dialogues justifying that it was ok. Our breakfast conversations (NOT at the hotel) revealed a combination of issues that tipped the scales and shed more light on the issues we overlooked the night before: dead bug on desk chair, new bug bites that we didn't have the day before and the final straw was blood spattered above the toilet and on the ceiling. It didn't take long to realize that we were not going to let the tone impact our weekend in Burlington so negatively. We made the decision to move our things out and take the loss on the cost. We told the lady at the front desk that we were checking out, that it wasn't working for us, and she said to just leave the cards in the room; no attempt at understanding why we'd walk away from the expensive pre-paid room. I also do not want other families to get caught in this misrepresentation and have their trip to the Burlington area spoiled by this...

Each summer I attend Middlebury College and stay here pre- and/or post-study. My friend and I enjoy the convenient location just outside of Burlington. There are stores and restaurants along the strip and it is easy access to the airport, malls, and the city. Be sure to check out Pauline's for good, local food.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious with a refrigerator, microwave, and TV. Some of the local channels on the lower end didn't come in, but it wasn't a major concern. This facility is rated as a gold star complex. It definitely shows in their desk staff and breakfast buffet. Every time we arrive, the receptionists are friendly and welcoming. In fact, as a Choice Member, we are given a goodie bag. Also, the breakfast is one of our favorites in the chain because there is a lot of variety (including both a waffle and pancake maker). It is also staffed and the buffet is kept stocked and the area clean. We always leave breakfast satisfied! Recently, they extended the hours from a 9 am close to 10 am. Very customer friendly.

This last visit, there was a family with a young child above our room. When the child kept jumping and bumping around so much that I couldn't get any rest, I contacted the front desk and they followed up with the family on my behalf. The situation improved and they promised to monitor the noise level.

There is a business area with Internet access and a printer. Off-street parking is included, but can be tight when they are full. The rooms are located in adjacent buildings, so you may have to walk around to get to your room. Also, we noticed that the entry ways are not secured at night. Anyone could enter the hallways, but perhaps it isn't an issue...
